** CANADA. 1610, Feb 12 at 0729 UT, dead air from dominant S7/S9 signal here, must be CHHA Toronto; unless there be a new nearby TIS. Also some understation, maybe Montréal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 11760, Sun Feb 12 at 1607, RHC Esperanto is just reaching the canned schedule info in their sign-on, so must have started several minutes late; yes, *still* with wrong outdated time and frequency info I have detailed numerous times before, as the Esperantists remain clueless about their own true broadcasts. // much weaker 15140 and nothing on 13 MHz band. Something`s always wrong at RHC. No doubt with Yanqui DST imposed in a month it shall be even wronger (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MALI. 13685, Feb 12 at 1554, song at S9/S5. Re my CODAR CW ID copied on 4752+ kHz exactly every icosaminute, twice at :03, :23, :43 past the hours, WRPW597: ``I found the attached file listing CODAR stations in Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, the Lower 48, and Puerto Rico. It seems CODAR stations have 4-letter IDs besides any FCC-assigned call sign. I've yet to find a chart matching the FCC ID with the 4-letter ID. The station you heard on 4.750 MHz, Glenn, appears to be SGRV at Singing River, MS. [Viz.: 162 SGRV Singing Ri USM 4.75 -25.7339 CODAR Ocean Sensors. SeaSonde] This site provides some more information on CODAR stations: https://cordc.ucsd.edu/projects/hfrnet/ If you zoom in on the map and select Station Placemarks in the Overlay menu and click on a station marker, you can get some information on the station and clicking on Station Diagnostics gets you recent data plots and some further station information like power (83 W for SGRV). As you can see from the station file listing, CODAR (Coastal Ocean Dynamics Applications Radar) stations operate on a variety of HF frequencies. Details of some of the different transmitters and antennas used are in the attached PDF file. -- Richard Langley`` [Geodetic Research Laboratory | Dept. of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering | University of New Brunswick] Unclear what the -25. figure is about; not geo coordinates which are in separate columns, not copied here. So why does the FCC version show two different but nearby locations? Singing River is a river, not a town; or rather nickname for the Pascagoula River. Fascinating story of people hearing it ``sing`` with lots of theories except for CODAR, predating that: https://www.onlyinyourstate.com/mississippi/singing-river-in-ms/ (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2177 monitoring: confirmed Saturday February 11 at 2030 about 2 minutes into, so started about 2028 UT on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S9+20 into nearby SDR. Also confirmed Saturday February 11 at 2230 on both WRMIs, direct: 5850 S8/9+10, and 15770 S9 yet steadier and much better vs noise level, but with quite a hum, which may have been of local origin tho not like on other frequencies checked. Also confirmed UT Sunday February 12 at 0034 the 0030 on WRMI 7780: Maurice LA, the best SDR for this is uptied; so how about the two TWRs at Brownsville TX, RGV? Worthless! The only Mexican at Durango2 is rarely activated again, so S8/9+5, about the same as Maryland SDR way offbeam. Also confirmed UT Sunday February 12 at 0557!
