Logs
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Wed Feb 1 at 1857, LRA36 already on
with songs: a special test for 1900-1945 previewed via Horacio Nigro
as early as 1431. (I had not even bothered to check at 1500.):

``Adrian Korol advises that "Today there will be a test broadcast of
LRA36 Radio Nacional Arcangel San Gabriel at 16:00 Argentine time (19
UTC) on 15476 khz USB for 45 minutes".``

I`m on one of the Argentine remotes which is getting it at the usual
level, S9 peaks, not bad for 200 watts, but never overcoming the
``frying sound`` background noise level.

1900 Morse code too fast for me but presumably ID, and standard vocal
s/on as ``Radio San Gabriel``, never mind the Nacional and the
Arcángel, multilingual that will be only in Spanish; 1901 a reading
about looking southward from Patagonia; `Uniendo Voces` program
slogan; 1903 live OM as joint produxion with RAE/AAM, credits to
Nicole and Adrián; contact info. Bit of music; efemérides = this week
in history starting with 31 Jan 1909y; 1908 ``cultura es soberanía``;
1912 canción; 1916 ID as Radio Arcángel San Gabriel --- too much
trouble to utter the full five-word name?? ``su cía``; phone tones,
``comunicad``, multilingual RAE ID reel. 1917 about carrying out
pruebas, contact info again. 1918 saludos from various voices; then
long talk about history of Antarctic bases, military operations; 1933
song; 1936 about memoria, but chopped off mid-sentence at 1937.5*
never to return for another dekaminute I listened to the noise. Next,
on Sat at 1500? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** COLOMBIZUELA [and non?]. 4941-4945 approx., Feb 1 at 0720, strange
noise peak accompanying 4940 SS gospel huxter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6060, Feb 1 at 0714 S9+10/20 of silence, the one RHC
transmitter still on, no others on 5, 6, 10, 11 or 13 MHz bands; vying
for dead-air sweepstakes with WRMI, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 90.1, Jan 31 at 1800 UT, KUCO-FM with no StarDate,
instead WFMT teaser. O, as website explains due to icy roads staff are
not coming in today, rather plugging in to a network feed, which also
means they cannot manage local insertions of Modules; yet the
still-original website has finally updated the Module skeds:
https://www.kucofm.com/programs/list-of-modules/
Same situation Feb 1 at 1800 UT, no StarDate on KUCO, so get it at
1804 on KANU / Kansas Public Radio (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Wed Feb 1 at 2302, token English from REE in news,
S9+5/18 into Virginia SDR // 12030 and 11940 weakers but usables and
nothing on 11670. News ends with latest COVID figures from different
regions in Spain. 2306 an interview with Yolanda about sustainability,
hard to follow due to accent vs noisy reception (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** TURKEY [non]. 5960, Feb 1 at 2300, no signal from VOT into UTwente.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler; at first no signal either
from XJPBS, Urumqi, East Turkistan, land of imperialist ChiCom
genocide against Uighurs and other Moslems, but it`s on and modulating
Chinese by 2311, still alone at 2330 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2175 monitoring: ``From: Richard
Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard’s listening
Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the
trees. Dear Glenn: Confirming World of Radio #2175, WRMI:

9395, slight QRN, 0130, 0144, 0159 (45543), (55433), 0158, Jan 31
[Tue]
9395, 0031, 0054 (55343), (45343), 0058, February 1 UTC 2023 [Wed]
5850, overslept, 1029, February 1 UTC 2023 [Wed] (Lemke, Richard
-AB)``

I am disappointed that none of the hundreds of WOR iog members, many
of whom are in awake timezones at 1030, checked that 5850 broadcast,
despite my repeated requests. It had been replaced on the WRMI
skedgrid, but was still heard for at least one week. Once again I need
to zzz thru it.

Confirmed UT Wednesday February 1 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S9+22/25 into
Missouri SDR.

Also confirmed Wednesday February 1 starting at 2200:20 on WBCQ
7489.94, S9/S6 direct. Next:

0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

Like our website, a noncommercial service for which financial support

in US funds but not necessarily.

Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid, OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4980, Feb 1 at 0715, S9+30 of silence from WRMI which should
have finished by 0500; vying for the dead-air sweepstakes with RHCuba,
q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5935 & 4840, Feb 1 at 0713 & 0718 chex, WWCRs are OFF, along
with 5890 & 3215 which are normally mostly off overnight except
weekends. Icy weather? Checking Nashville airport NWS hourly
conditions: at 0553 & 0653 overcast; but at 0453 & earlier, had been
freezing rain. Next check at 1630, all are on nominally, 9980, 12160,
13845 and with sporadic-E boost, 15825 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7890, Feb 1 at 0716, JBA carrier from R. Vanuatu X 2 but
none making it on X 3 = 11835; likewise 13755 NZ is but a JBA carrier
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA 9/kHz split MW carrier search, Feb 1
at 0218: 684, 774-2, 855-2, 909, 999, 1089, 1107-2, 1125, 1296. These
correlate with Spain or UK, most likely closest edges of Europe. Glad
to hear 684 unlike later scans, likely what`s left of Sevilla; which
in the meantime I see is still routinely logged in Europe (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA 9/kHz split MW carrier search, Feb 1
at 0725: 684, 837, 855-2, 1116-2, all likely Spain. Still no 846 TP
Kiritimati; has anyone confirmed it lately? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 5955, Feb 1 at 0713, JBA carrier where normally nothing
but Cuban pulse jamming against nothing. Only listee in EiBi & Aoki is
Sunlite, Holland, at 0500-1500, 500 watts with irregular test
transmissions as of WRTH 2022. BTW, the new WRTH 2023 is about to
start shipping (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 2339 UT February 1
