Artist in Residence Paul Winter's 43rd annual Winter Solstice
Celebration, in the form of a video retrospective, will be streamed
free on Youtube on the evening of Wednesday, December 21, at 7pm.
Entitled Solstice Saga, this epic three-hour journey interweaves
iconic performances from the first four decades of this event at New
York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine.

The cast of performers includes the Paul Winter Consort; Russia's
Dmitri Pokrovsky Ensemble; Brazil's Ivan Lins, Fabiana Cozza and
Renato Braz; Ireland's Nóirín Ní Riain and Uillean Piper Davy
Spillane; Procol Harum's Gary Brooker; griot singer Abdoulaye Diabate
of Mali; Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary; and the West
African dancing and drumming of the Forces of Nature Dance Theatre.

announcements which sound like Turkish or at least Turkic. Axually
this is a quite enjoyable concert, a respite from the attempted
English shows requiring one to strain to understand them. Maybe lost
feed and instead plugged into one of the domestic channels.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler and/or awry at Ankara. At 2355
& 2356 two very quick drops in transmission, but right back on as if
attempting to turn it off without success. After pause, 0000 still on
with timesignal and into Turkish? talk, news? Finally does go off and
stay off at 0003.6* Dec 17, uncovering as always the XJPBS from East
Turkistan, std denunciation. No extra German tonight. Since this was
mostly music and SPAIN q.v. mostly talk, I had no problem listening to
both at same time, altho some cannot tolerate such ``cacophony``
