Hauser
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC LSB, Wed Nov 2 at 1435 I start monitoring
via Argentine SDR 15475.83 in USB, hearing nothing. That exact
frequency where last heard on Sat in LSB; at 1502 I switch to USB and
there it is, LRA36, when I retune to 15475.98 but in LSB, not USB!
Also listenable in AM mode, tho the carrier is very much reduced, JBA
if side-tuned. The themesong is playing; only S4/S5 at first,
difficult copy. K index is 3. 1505 the opening recitation; 1507 song;
``RASG - su cía`` canned ID, then lively live YLs on this, the 29th
programa of the Esperanza Audaz season; 1519 comes in stronger with S7
peaks, frequency as ``15476``, never mind the details of SSB and
offfrequenciness; 1534 OM talking about some ham project in 2013y;
1540 YL mentions ``high frequency``, music; 1545 ``RNASG -- Nacional,
nos une`` canned ID; interview with José Ortiz? técnico; 1556 YL
mentions winds hit 200 kph there; 1603 music only; 1606 ID with staff
list which funxions as a s/off as well as s/on; ``Nacional, nos une``
and off? Not quite, back with a few more words and music until chop at
1608* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 287 MCW kHz, Nov 2 at 0653 UT, dash and ZWG, 50 watt ND
beacon at Winnipeg MB: seldom heard in contrast to 248 WG, a regular
with 1000 watts also audible now. DXinfocentre.com shows considerably
different coördinates, different airports. ZWG at Stoney, seldom
heard, last logged Feb 17, 2021. Both to be decommissioned: ZWG on Dec
29, 2022; WG on April 20, 2023. There is only one other on 287, YSF,
500 watts at Stony Rapids SK.

269 MCW kHz, Nov 2 at 0654, dash and UDE, 50 watt NDB at Delta MB.
Last logged Nov 26, 2021 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, Nov 2 at 0636, S9+20 open carrier, R Rebelde must be
coming back after a week, so why not modulate it? Meanwhile at same
time, none of The Cuban Five from RHC on 5 or 6 MHz bands are to be
heard (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN [and non]. 5960, Nov 2 from 2241, strange behaviour
of Xinjiang PBS, into UTwente as I am tuning in early for Turkey.
Carrier is already on suppressing BBCWS OMAN in English. Brief bursts
of Chinese martial music about once a minute, but continuous tone
2245-2250. Then some longer bits of martial music. *2255 VOT carrier
on, in turn suppressing XJPBS, but still QRMing TRT considerably past
2300, q.v. From Urumqi, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against
Uyghurs and other Moslems (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, Wed Nov 2 at 0637, JJBBA carrier from R.
Kiribati, along with some TAs, see UNIDENTIFIED. In NZDX Times, Bryan
Clark reports this survey: ``Bryan Clark, Mangawhai, WinRadio G33DDC
Excalibur Pro & AOR7030+ receivers with EWE directional antennas to
North, Central & South America. I monitored 846 for a period of 3
weeks in an attempt to establish a schedule pattern.
24 September transmitter closed at 0938:36 UTC;
25 September - no signal Sunday evening;
26 September - transmitter closed at 0733:40 UTC;
27 September - transmitter closed at 0737:06 UTC,
28 September – no signal on this Wednesday evening;
29 September – transmitter closed at 0948:23 UTC;
1 October - closed early - no signal at 0848 UTC check.
2 October - no signal Sunday evening;
3 October - no signal on this Monday evening;
4 October - transmitter closed at 1012:27 UTC;
5 October - transmitter closed at 0708:51 UTC;
6 October - transmitter closed at 0840:14 UTC;
7 October - no signal when checked at 0640 UTC;
8 October - transmitter closed at 0734:37 UTC;
9 October - no signal Sunday evening;
10 October - transmitter closed at 0809:36 UTC;
11 October - transmitter closed at 0738:34 UTC;
12 October - transmitter closed at 0734:49 UTC;
13 October - transmitter closed at 0724:11 UTC;
14 October - transmitter closed at 0747:19 UTC.
As the above indicates, apart from a regular absence on Sunday nights,
the closedown time remains variable. I have sent an enquiry to Radio
Kiribati HQ, but no response as at end on October. (Bryan Clark)``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MALI. 5995, Nov 2 at 0631, ORTM absent for second night: we are
worried (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Wed Nov 2 at 2308, token English from REE VG into
Maryland on NAm frequency, all others well audible too, 11685, 11940,
12030. Amy Egan starts a feature for the upcoming Apr 8, 2023
semi-centennial of Picasso`s death, about a Madrid exhibition on the
theme of his friendship with Gabrielle Chanel since 1917 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [non]. 5960, Nov 1 at 2258, BBC OMAN in English until
2259.5*; 2300 timepips and open Xinjiang PBS in Chinese from Urumqi,
East Turkistan, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide against Uyghurs
and other Moslems. I let it run via UTwente in background for rest of
the hour, and never a trace of VOT English, where something is always
erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

IRRS/NEXUS/IBA notify me Oct 31 that because of increased SW
transmission costs, WOR will no longer be aired on SW 7290, which has
been Friday at 1815, but will continue on MW 1323 and webcasts:

``Please notice that we had to reschedule most programs in B22,
including WOR, currently at:
22:30 CET on Friday (MW 1323 kHz + streaming) [Friday 2130 UT]
01:30 CET on Sunday (streaming) [UT Sunday 0030]
22:00 CET on Sunday (MW 1323 kHz + streaming) [Sunday 2100 UT]

Our B22 program and frequency schedules are online now.

https://www.nexus.org/member-services/radio-and-tv/schedules/b22-schedule/
We anticipate a move to 7295 kHz from 18 to 19 UTC daily as of
tonight. Further changes may be possible and announced on our mailing
list and online``. Looking at HFCC, 7295 will be clear of CCI, and
also of 7290/7300 ACI during this hour. If had stayed on 7290 at
18-19, would have had heavy ChiCom ACI de 7285; if on 7290 at 19-20,
from ChiCom on 7295 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330v, Nov 2 at 0625, WBCQ/WLCR is still/again off when it`s
usually on. Is it totally off for now? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7260, Nov 2 at 0627, S6/S7 of music from R. Vanuatu. At

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic, JBA split MW carrier search, Nov 2 at

Spain/Canary/Morocco (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
