program of the season, something about Día del Maestro and school #38?
at the base. Now I`m sure this is playback of Wed Sept 14 show and
altho I might garner a few more details this time, I am about to quit
-- just when, after geo coördinates are cited, it dumps off the air
already at 1513.6*. Still off at 1540 and typically not expected to

near NYC says CFRB interference is intolerable at night, therefore
concludes day pattern is in use. What a station axually does, not

Andy Reid: ``In Peterborough, ON, Newstalk 1010 is totally
unlistenable after dark because of WINS. 1010 was (is?) a Canadian
clear channel. I read in the past that WINS had to seek special
permission to use the frequency. It should never have been allowed if

** CUBA. 5025, Sept 16 at 2344, R. Rebelde is off, tsk2, the #1
domestic network of The Revolution; good for Quillabamba, anyway if on
and can be pulled, nothing heard now. Something`s always wrong at

** CUBA. 9657.9 & 9642.1, Sept 16 at 2348, suspicious JBA carriers,
both exactly 7.9 kHz from S9+35 9650 RHC, therefore surely spurs from
that. Yay! Whee! Not every day one discover a new RHC spur setup.

alternates? 9690 nil; 11769.16V JBA carrier probably local birdie
further down than VON would be. Are they totally inactive again?:

imperialist ChiCom-occupied Tibet. 9690 nothing except ACI splatter
from CRI listed on both sides; 11770 strong in Chinese, i.e. PBS

27184.5 AM, Sept 17 at 1530 check, on again with same station relayed
into a SWBC, only S9 on another receiver (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Fri Sept 16 at 2200, token English from REE previews
feature after news to be interview with someone from a fancy hotel in
Madrid known for hosting celebs. Pass. Anyway, VG into Maryland SDR so
other frequencies not explored either.

17855, Sat Sept 17 at 1529, REE is on much earlier weekends, only
S9/+10 with silly ballgame (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SUDAN SOUTH [non]. 15150.019, Sept 17 at 1518 uncertain language,
S7/S9 and soon mentions Turkey? But this hour is R. Tamazuj from
Netherlands via MADAGASCAR, presumably in Juba Arabic dialect. Much
greater signal than 15140 RHC. Nearby single-hop propagation degraded
and/or underpowered (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830.003, VOT S9+25/35 into UTwente, usual `hard` news,
commentary, press review at first, finally 2220 Sept 16 always
enjoyable Tuerkiyeish music. 2225 `Feeling Supreme` subtitle now
sounds like ``healing spring``?? A repeat about natural remedies for
head lice, starting with mixing vinegar and water in a bowel --- I
think he means bowl? Heh heh, often good for unintentional ESL humour.

6160 minus 25 Hz into Maryland SDR = 6159.975, S9+10.

Tim Gaynor says the Unique Radio, Australia, webcast if not SW
broadcast of WOR at 0700 UT - and IRR at 0730 Saturdays, are now on
Sundays at 0800 & 0830 UT. Since IRR is originally several hours later
on Sundays, its initial UR airing would have to wait until Wed at
1130. Since WOR is originally on Thu, the Wed 1100 on UR would be
almost a week old. And: ``Streaming on low bitrate AAC+ for a bit till
I sort out a better internet connection and also the shortwave
licenses will be transferred in due course.`` Next:

first subject not so political, all about ancient recording methods,
i.e. cutting and stamping disc records. He has some old gear to do
that. 0004, ``extremely analog here``. CBC somewhere proudly has a
brand-new state-of-the-art-totally-digital facility. Says he is in
Master Control, guess that means Monticello rather than DeLand of Fla.
Angela sounds like she`s remote on a phone. Recheck at 0030, about fun
of kit-building. His father used to get him a new Heathkit as soon as
school was out in the summer. Missed the rest; did anyone overhear any
signif info about station ops? Per twit a few hours earlier, he
predicted this would be on 3265 besides the usual 3; could not hear it

** U S A. 15770, Sept 17 at 1522, NO signal from WRMI-9. Propagation
may be degraded but surely at least a trace if on. 15825 WWCR is JBA
carrier, which is normal without Es. 1830 recheck via Maryland SDR,
still definitely NO 15770 - a major loss with variety of programming.
Nothing about this on disgraced FB. Ops normal otherwise, at 1849
confirmed on into Maryland SDR: 9955, 9455, 9395, and JBA carrier on
21525 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7932 & 8620 & 7890, Sept 17 at 0644, NO R. Vanuatu on
previously or recently employed second harmonix. Gary Pence agrees,
after Ron Howard found 8620+ disappeared during Sept 16. But now we
need to do exhaustive continuous band searches before and after 0700
in case it have jumped to a totally new constellation (Glenn Hauser,

UNIDENTIFIED. 9700, Sept 16 at 2350, S9+20/30 of open carrier/dead
air; something warming up for *0000? Nothing sked then per Aoki but
RRI Spanish from Tsiganeshti is supposed to be here until 2357*. And
would you believe RHC English at 0100-0700 on 9700? Aoki and EiBi both
do! Never seen reported lately but will have to check for it (Glenn
