Logs
** EGYPT. 9439.995v, Sept 13 at 2150, R. Cairo is back on air, S9+25
into UTwente, presumed English but totally extremely distorted.
Something`s always egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GERMANY [and non]. 9670, Sept 13 at 0613, pop music at S4/S6,
presumably Channel 292, which most of the time propagates Brother
HyStairical while pretending not to -- but this is not // 7570 TOMBS
on WRMI, so what is sked now on `292? Specific program sked for this
date and hour at
https://www.channel292.de/schedule-9670-khz/
shows this in a block covering 0500-1000 on Sept 12-17: ``May be off
air for some time due to maintenance work all week``. I do not measure
them directly but note that 292 frequency matches RVM Brasil circa
9665, i.e. exactly same pitch het when tuned to 9664-USB and 9669-USB
--- but something on 9675 presents a lower pitch, when tuned to
9674-USB: that would be a CNR1 non-jammer, more likely to be precisely
on its frequency that 292 or RVM on theirs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, Sept 13 at 0708, JBA carrier from R.
Kiritimati, and nothing else on 9/kHz splits (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NIGERIA. 7255-, Sept 13 at 0627, VON is on, undermodulated S9/+10,
think I heard the drumming IS go by once in passing, more Hausa.

7255-, Sept 13 at 1636, no VON signal yet into Canary Islands SDR on
signature off-frequency 7254.93 or so, just noise instead of 1630-1900
English. Typically will cut on and off multiple times during that
span. Next check, 1715, it`s on in English with squeal, S7/S9, VP
hardly readable vs storm noise level, -67v Hz offset = 7254.933. Next
check, 1821, OFF again!

Are we to assume that VON are unable, or merely unwilling, to employ
any of their other three long-listed frequencies? Evenings were on
11770, which ought to arrive better now; alternate 9690; all always
offset-minus; and even DRM noise circa 15120 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SWAZILAND [and non]. 9585, Sept 14 at 1454, music box IS and IDs,
``This is T-W-R, broadcasting from Eswátini``, 1455 opening presumed
Malgache, S4/S6 via longpath. Recheck at 1501, now fast SAH from a
second station, i.e. CRI Japanese hour scheduled to start at *1458 via
Xianyang 59 site, so maybe not a problem in Madagascar (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U K [non]. Sept 13 at 2130 UT, via PBS on OETA-2, repeated at 2200
on OETA-1. BBC World News America is back to `normal` with Laura
Trevelyan anchoring Queenews et al. from NYC:
https://www.babinc.org/laura-trevelyan/
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 18164.2 USB, Sept 13 at 2123, W6F on Route 66 in Kingman AZ,
which is in the 7th, not 6th call area, making quick contacts, I can
hear AI8O calling over & over but W6F cannot. Op spells their name
ALYCE. ARRL/FCC lookup does not recognise W6F call, but qrz.com:

W6F USA flag USA
2022 Route 66 On The Air Special Event
Hualapai Amateur Radio Club, WB6RER
P.O. Box 6908, Kingman, AZ 86402 USA --- more about it here without
any specific datespan but updated 9/12:
https://www.qrz.com/db/W6F
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2155 monitoring; next:
2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba]
2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

a US bank.

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9330v, Sept 13 at 1453, yet another day WBCQ/WLCR
SuperStition is AWOL from own 24/7 schedule, Enid target safe from it
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15555-USB, Sept 13 at 1452, WJHR gospel huxter is JBA S7/S8
about the same as noise level. Per DXMAP, HF sporadic E MUF is barely
reaching here between FL & OK (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15670-15675, Sept 13 at 1423, the hybrid unauthorized lower
half of WINB beepery is VP S6/S7 while the upper half in DRM noise
15675-15680 is hardly distinguishable from band noise level. Recent
new frequency scheduled 14-15 only M-F, then 15745-15755 at 15-17. Not
clear why a change needed, nothing listed to QRM 15745-15755 before
1500 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 7932.05, Sept 13 at 0620, R. Vanuatu S5/S7, JBA talk vs
always present CODAR, i.e. 2 x 3966+. Unfortunately still barely awake
at 0709, JBA carrier on 8620+. So despite alleged help from NZ, RV is
sticking to wacko schedule of two totally wrong frequencies and their
harmonix, 3966+ and 4310+ switching at 0659/0700 --- while local
listeners are surely wondering where it went - they might encounter
3966 if tuning around 3945 especially on analog radios, but not 4310
without a DXing mentality.

Bryan Clark, NZ, wrote Sept 9: ```A follow up message from Adrian at
RNZ Pacific regarding the Radio Vanuatu shortwave transmitter problems
says, ``I heard months ago the company that made the TX has gone out
of business. That raises the problem of spare parts plus no local
technical expertise available. The solution will be very expensive and
who knows if it will happen anytime soon.`` Regards, Bryan``` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
