Glenn Hauser logs July 23-24, 2022

Logs
** ALGERIA [and non]. 15340 was first reported by Jorge Freitas,
Brasil, to the WOR iog as unID in Arabic, July 22 at 2345. It remained
on air long into the night and then numerously monitored. Ultimately
concluding that TDA is *finally* on air, testing at least from own
site(s) inside Algeria, besides the long-standing relays via France.

Otherwise occupied, I did not get on it until 2030 July 23, and posted
at 2043: ``So do we have both sites suddenly testing? Altho not
adhering to registered times, 17600 is supposedly Béchar and 15340
Ourgla. 15340 is S5-S6 into UTwente, going from Arabic talk to song at
2030. If you can hear both, see if they are exactly synchronized; and
compare to ISSoudun?``

``Glenn, they're in sync. Reception from Feira de Santana-BA, Brazil
https://youtube.com/shorts/DnjQvclsfqg?feature=share
73 Jorge Freitas, Feira de Santana, Bahia 12°14´S 38°58´W -
Brasil, Tecsun PL-660, XHDATA, Antena Delta Loop e LW 20 metros``

``Jorge, Tnx for discovering and following this. Listening via
UTwente: at 2055, 15100 much stronger than 15340; woman mainly in
Arabic, but mixing in some French - an Algerian thing, I guess. After
2100 the two ISSouduns are still on, 5930 much better than 9585, with
different Arabic programming than 15100. Glenn``

15100 an unregistered frequency, also discovered by Jorge Freitas.
Here`s HFCC to look for other possible frequencies.
http://hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=A22&broadc=TDA
The Ourgla frequencies registered, mostly for a few hours each: 7430,
15340, 15700, 17550, 9835, 13600; Bechar: 9750, 7205, 9750, 15680,
17600, 21500, 15250. TDA had been registering extensive skeds for many
years, but delay after delay in getting new sites on air. Will the
ISSoudun relays soon be dropped? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, July 23 at 1518-1558, no signal from
LRA36 into Argentine remote, missing another Saturday. Might have come
and gone before my late tune-in but Gary Pence was not hearing it
earlier at 1509 via same remote (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. For a change, sporadic E opening with only *one* log into
caradio, standard provisos: 94.5, July 23 at 1801 UT, ``The music you
want to hear, CHAT-FM, Medicine Hat``, country. WTFDA DB:
CHAT-FM 94.5 MEDICINE HAT AB COUNTRY TODAY'S COUNTRY CHAT 94.5 100.0
kW H&V, 176.0 mH only --- 1833 km = 1139 statute miles, city to Enid.
I remember DXing their TV station in the analog era on channel 6; now
virtual, really RF 36, far beyond DX Es MUF possibility.

I`m still working on researching and compiling logs of huge July 23 Es
opening including some other Albertans, lots of Montanans and
vicinities (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13630 approx., July 23 at 1452, RHC spurblob with F# tone,
mod better audible in AM than FM; out of 13700 transmitter which is
S9/+10. Not much of a match on 13770, and just traces at second-orders
circa 13834? and 13560 vs constant local RFID? beepery. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, July 24 at 0500-0507, UR1 via WRMI, VG via
Maryland remote, `Ukraine: Security Issue` for July 23 = Day 150 of
Putin`s war; including, Russians shelled Odesa despite ``agreement``
to allow grain exports: cannot be trusted; estimated 3000 missiles
have been fired into Ukraine since war started (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2148 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
July 23 at 1600 on WRN North America webcast. Missed checking July 23
at 1930 on WA0RCR.

Confirmed UT Sunday July 24 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S7/S5 into Maryland
SDR after Etón ad at 0029.

Also confirmed UT Sunday July 24 at 0324 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S6/S8
into nearby SDR but with heavy storm noise from a front between NM and
MN, about 6 minute into so started circa 0328.

``Hi Glenn, Just a note to confirm reception of WOR 2148 on WMRI
Europe (via Channel 292) on 9670 kHz Sunday 24 July, wrapping up at
1402 UTC. Best wishes - Alan Roe, Teddington, UK`` Next:

** U S A. 9330.013, July 23 at 0627, WLCR/WBCQ S7/S9 in English,
achieving closer to accurate frequency but still doubt it`s the 500
kW. They may switch back to it without notice, since they never
acknowledged switching away from it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
