Hauser
** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, LRA36 is due for another Saturday
broadcast from 1500, so I start tuning Brazilian SDRs at 1435 -
nothing yet; but at 1452 I`m getting some modulation, best but only
S3/S4 into Campo, while the other three in Brazil get little or
nothing.

1500 promptly official sign-on, multilingual canned in Spanish,
German, English, Russian and maybe one other. 1502 the Antartida song.
1505 some historical talk about Patagonia. 1511 contact info. 1512 I
switch to the LU4 SDR in Argentina which is getting it a bit better,
during song. 1518 talk about the Malvinas war, 1521 interview on phone
about ham radio involvement there --- ah, the nostalgia! for April
1982. 1534 song, 1537 more about hams, but 1539* abruptly chopped off
the air and no return by 1600 as I let it play. It seems this is their
`normal` closing routine, maybe involuntarily. The repeats at 1800
Saturdays are supposed to start in June. But just in case, I recheck
today at 1852: No.

BTW, a May 7 article on
https://www.facebook.com/Radiosdumonde/
about LRA36 claims, ``C'était la première et unique station officielle
au monde située en Antarctique``. Presumably written by the FB site`s
owner, tho never signed, Michel Frémy in Belgium. Nor does he
attribute his sources, but that info is a BIG LIE, probably propagated
by LRA36 and/or R Nacional in Argentina themselves.

If it began in 1979 as claimed, another ``official`` Antarctic SW
station had been going already for five years, from 1974, American
Forces Antarctic Network, which many of us DXed on 6012 kHz --- and
even before that on MW.

And another contradixion about the FM frequency at Esperanza: 97.6,
while WRTH shows 96.7. More likely correct is whichever the
Antarcticans axually announce.

That item also linx to a 3-minute 2021y audiovideo from Argentina
about LRA36; all the garble caused by accents: good luck.

** ITALY [and non]. 7290, Sat May 14 at *1800.9, IRRS cut on via
Bulgaria as always almost a minute late with `Feature Story News` JIP.
Good into UTwente but must tune LSB to avoid RTTY warble. At 1831
during country music also on // 1323 AM Italia into Noale, but not on
918 or 207. Checking, since yesterday when WORLD OF RADIO should have
aired Friday at 1815, 7290 was off and 1323 was fill music.

BTW, next week, the latest possible third-Friday, May 20, is a
scheduled preëmption of WOR from the 1815 slot only. I hope Eurarea
WOR listeners are hearing me instead on WMRI via Channel 292, Sundays
as early as 1324, nominal 1330, on 9670, if not WRMI or WBCQ or WRN or
---? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 95.1, May 14 at 1734 UT on caradio, surprised to hear the
booming voice of the very late Paul Harvey, just concluding with
``Good Day?``. Immediately followed by a gospel huxter so this must be
Bott, KQCV ``Shawnee`` which vies with KICT Wichita for control of
95.1. PH must have said something with religious over- or under-tones.
Yet brings back fond memories of being a regular listener to his
noontime commentaries, especially on Saturdays, despite his right-wing
politix. Wonder if this be a reliable spot now. Altho he wound up in
Chicago, he was an Okie, born in Tulsa *1918-2009* in Phœnix; on ABC
air 1951-2008 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2138 monitoring: confirmed UT
Saturday May 14 after 0130 on WRMI 9395, S9+10 vs HSNL.

Also confirmed UT Saturday May 14 at 0400 on WBCQ Radio Angela, 4790,
S6/S7 into Maryland SDR --- and yes, interrupted by those uteblaaps,
appearing once a minute in two different interleaving cycles, per the
waterfall some below, some right on, some above 4790, one at a time.

Also confirmed Saturday May 14 at 1600 on WRN North America webcast.

** U S A. 9395, UT Sat May 14 at 0200, immediately following WORLD OF
RADIO, show is `Cruisin the Decades` which claims to be on
``superpower WRMI``, and ``500 kW WBCQ``! Not unless it`s on the 9330
transmitter, which it is not. Outdated/incomplete blurb about it on
WRMI programming page:

``Cruisin' The Decades Global Artwork.jpg --- "Cruisin' The Decades"
is based on a love of music, and an appreciation for the history of
popular music recordings. The show plays one song per decade (any song
from any genre), from the 1910's, 1920's, 1930's, etc... right up to
the 2020's. Hear over 100 years of recorded music history in the
course of one hour. Hand-picked by Brad Savage in Akron, OH where the
show originates on WAPS-FM "The Summit" (www.thesummit.FM)"

Sundays at 5:00 pm Eastern Time (2200 [sic] UTC) on 9955 kHz and
livestreamed at www.wrmi.net.

** U S A. 600 kHz, May 14 at 0423 UT tune-in via Athens GA SDR,
last-minute DX test by WBOB, 50 kW, Jaxonvil FL. S8 and dominant
signal there. None of the usual Morse code, tones, etc., but real live
human Jerry is broadcasting from the hard-to-reach-thru-the-mud
transmitter site, playing some complete genuine vinyl record songs on
a real turntable there! Says he can hear the difference compared to
digital recordings. When mike is open says nevermind the background
noise [as it`s not a studio]. 0438 contact to BOBTX@protonmail.com But
mail has to be forwarded to him. 0442 acknowledges Martin Foltz in
Sarasota.

Says the test is to assess the skywave coverage of the 50 kW daytime
transmitter. Later will switch to night pattern. He and two others are
at the site, but five are needed, and expect to do it again tomorrow
night = UT Sunday 0400-0700. With lightning overhead I QRT the
computer at 0444 nor can I use the E/W longwire direct. I don`t expect
to hear WBOB here, nor do I on the interior longwire nor on the DX-398
with heavy T-storm noise, and 600 anyway dominated by WMT aiming
thisaway, and some others closer than Jax (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1130 kHz, May 14 at 1735-1745+ UT, KLEY Wellington KS, this
Rocking M station in its second Dead Air Day (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 1908 UT May 14
