Glenn Hauser logs April 23-24, 2022
Sunday, April 24 2022

Logs
** CHINA. 13530, April 24 at 1416, CNR1 S9/+10 QRMing CODAR; also at
1417, S8/S9 on 13020, JBA carriers on 13190 & 13130. At 1424 also on
15800, S9/+10 // 13530; and S5/S8 on 16100. All well-established spots
to jam Sound of Hope, except not listed in Aoki 13190, rather in that
area 13130 where I usually detect it; 13160 and 13170. All of those
are among the latest huge SOH/jammer monitoring by Wolfgang Bueschel
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 13740, April 24 at 1415, S9 of dead air from RHC, then off*;
while 13700 is S9+20 undermodulated. Something`s always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. 13740, April 24 at 0629, African language the SSOB S7/9+10,
drumming, ``RFI`` pronounced in French and off 0630*. It was Hausa.
North Atlantic path is becoming less and less dark overnight (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GREECE. 9420, April 24 at 0506, still NO signal from VOG/EPT/ERT.
This is when they used to air Greek Orthodox services Sunday mornings;
yet it`s GrOx Easter but nothing special as an exception, tsk2,
limited to MF 12-17 UT only. At least I cannot accuse them of
violating Separation of Church and State (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KURDISTAN [non]. 11775, April 24 at 0626, Cuban-style pulse jamming
atop weak station, presumed Denge Welat as now scheduled only here via
BULGARIA at 0530-1700, due east from ``Secretbrod`` as Ivo calls
Kostinbrod. No explanation why Cuba would jam this frequency, never?
used by Radio Marti, but used to be Caribbean Beacon, Anguilla.
Turkiye is presumably more interested in jamming DW, normally with
music on now vacant former 11530/11540; so has Cuban technology been
exported?

BTW, I`m astounded to spot in HFCC that WWCR has registered 11775 at
1200-2100 on the 46-degree antenna, i.e. #1 which is really on 15825.
Anything else imaginary? Plenty of alternatives: 15795 at 09-22; 12180
at 12-24; 7390 at 12-20; 6115 at 01-21 in addition to axual usage
21-01; 6090 at 21-12, 3215 at 21-12 beyond axual 01-11; 3195 at 21-01.
Note both 11775 and 6090, the two ex-Anguilla channels, by the same
frequency manager (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6915 USB, April 24 at 0044, S9/+10 pirate music
overcomes much of the high storm noise level --- NE/SW front across
central OK with tornado threats to OKC, Stillwater, but nothing around
Enid. All four major OKC TV stations blow away their primetime for
wall-to-wall storm coverage; KWTV especially boastful about its
equipment.

0045 Wolverine Radio ID, and at 0055, then ``Let the Good Times
Roll``; 0102 quick comparison to 7490 WBCQ about same on meter but
W.R. louder; when I get back at 0103, SSTV underway, and at 0105 as
soon as that`s over without a beat, DJ as Doctor DJ and/or Drunken DJ
Radio. Same transmitter? He even mentions Wolverine too. Mike is lo-fi
but talx a lot more than Wolv. Does not sound drunken to me: try
harder? 0110 outros songs unlike Wolv, `Once in a Lifetime` by Talking
Heads. 0113 shoutouts to reports on HF Underground. More songs. 0124
again referring to Wolverine as well as DDJR. 0126 first of two SSTVs;
0128 backstory about it and 0129 second SSTV. I do not recheck until
0325, when 6915 is *still* on acknowledging HFU reports including a
request from Bermuda.

Here are the HFU reports of both stations, no doubt including some
images so I don`t have to:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,96301.0.html
Lots and lots of them, with playlists. Later: WDDR is on 6900, which
started with WDOG, confusing: see below report (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6950 USB, Apr 24 at 0326, another pirate on here
with rock at S9 direct; 0335 SFX noises like revving, then screaming
music; 0345 via Missouri SDR, SSTV; 0346 KDOG, K-dog ID, music. See:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,96308.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6900 USB, Apr 24 at 0353, a third station while 6915
and 6950 are still running. Via Missouri remote: Rock, 0354 and over
music at 0355, WDOG ID in Morse code. See:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,96307.0.html
0400 another ID with yips.

But at 0425 the 6900 station IDs as WDDR - Drunken DJ Radio, earlier
on 6915. Now only 6900 remains on. At 0437 says he has finished his
bottle of wine. 0500 still on, 0502 says is getting a buzz, will play
one more tune, HFU replies; 0508 now is pulling out one more one more
tune from YT, as closing windows, now sounds inebriated. Is really off
by 0515 recheck (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, April 24 at 0500, UR1 via WRMI, no English
segment today, understandably, since it`s Orthodox Easter: some lovely
music, a lasting legacy of religionism. It`s 8 am in Ukraine, so I
wonder if this be a live E-morning service; or maybe recorded from
previous evening, if any. After 0515 mostly UU talk (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2135 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
April 23 at 1930 on WRMI 15770, S9 into UTwente but avoid RTTY warble
on LSB, or reduce bandwidth <3.5 kHz. By 1957 has faded to S5/6.

Also confirmed Saturday April 23 at 1946 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, VG
S9+8 into nearby SDR, ending at 2002 so started about 1933.

Also confirmed UT Sunday April 24 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9/+10 into
TWR RGV SDR; S9 direct but JBA vs high OK storm noise level.

Also confirmed UT Sunday April 24 at 0336 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO,
S9+20 direct but in hi storm noise level, about 3 minutes into so
started circa 0333; at 0344 via nearby SDR, S9+10 but better S/N
against storm crashes.

Also confirmed UT Sunday April 24 at 1337 on WMRI Europe via Channel
292 Germany, 9670, about 7 minutes into the 1330 airing, S9 into
UTwente, and zero signal direct. Next:

2000 UT Sunday IRRS 918 & 1323-Italy
2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW [to be canceled? still Apr 17]
0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW

1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW

** U S A. 9955, April 24 at 1410, WRMI S9 but quite undermodulated,
against nohuxter more apropos than the Tourette`s screamster Terry
Blalock! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
