** ALBANIA [non]. 7730, Sun Apr 17 at 0608, WRMI S9+10 with travelog of Albania, S9+10, so R. Tirana is still the primary occupant at 0600, altho on April 13 Ivo Ivanov reported RFPI at this time: that may be only weekly on Wednesdays (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** EAST TURKISTAN [and non]. 9880, April 16 at 2237, CRI Esperanto, VG into UTwente, fluent YL with continuous musical bed; run across as I am tracking Cairo. Via Kashgar, standard denunciation. Only Commies SWBC in Esp`o, CRI and Cuba, per: https://www.addx.de/cgi-bin/hfp.cgi which shows RHC Sundays at 0600-0630 on 6100; really, instead of 0700? I did not reconfirm either today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EGYPT. 9899.951, April 16 at 2227, R. Cairo suptorted music, S9+30 into UTwente; at 2236 can recognize talk in Portuguese distorted, so now ``9900`` is the 2215-2230 Brazilian service instead of English at 2115-2245 which is now scheduled and sometimes heard on 9440, but nothing there now. That would require two transmitters at once; possible? So I keep checking for subsequent emissions: 9884.951, April 16 at 2333, now Cairo in Arabic to S America, S9+45 with occasional modulation peaks breaking thru. Still suptorted at 0042 April 17, now S9 tuning direct. Note the close match of the -49/50 Hz offset from one frequency to another. 9889.950, April 17 at 0044, has now already upslid 5 kHz for the 0045 Spanish service, same horrible modulation, but I missed the transition. Measured via UTwente not until 0157 when about to end, S9+20 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6934.9 AM, April 17 at 0306, JBA talk, music, only sign of a pirate as I haven`t been searching earlier during `prime time` UT Sundays. These say it`s KMUD on ``6935``: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,96019.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2134 monitoring: confirmed Saturday April 16 at 1930 on WRMI 15770, S9/+10 into Maryland SDR but only S4/S5 into UTwente and with RTTY warble on the LSB. Also confirmed Sat Apr 16 at 1931 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, Wentzville MO, S9+10 into nearby Warrenton SDR, about 11 minutes into so started early about 1920 Also confirmed UT Sunday April 17 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S8/9+5 into Tennessee SDR with storm crashes but better here than some other US remotes. Also confirmed UT Sunday April 17 at 0320 on WA0RCR 1860 AM, MO, about 8 minutes into so started circa 0312: S9+10 vs S9 local? noise level unusual for nearby KB0FX SDR; amid R2 blackout but that should affect the dayside, not nearby darkside groundwave. Axually better now into Knoxville SDR, S9 with some storm crashes not nearby. Also confirmed Sunday April 17 at 1402 on WMRI Europe via Channel 292, Germany, 9670, about S4 into Castlegar, Ireland SDR, while Carlow waterfall was blank; and not audible at UTwente = too close skipping over. I tuned in just in time to hear WOR 2134 ending, so this week must have started at 1333; then immediately into Russian. Next: 2000 UT Sunday IRRS 1323-Italy; & 918? 2230 UT Sunday WRMI 5950 to NNW [to be canceled? still Apr 3 but 10?] 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW 0300vUT Monday WBCQ 6160v Area 51 to WSW 0030 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 2230 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed by Cuba] 1000 UT Wednesday Unique R, Australia 5035-USB or 3210-USB 1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW 0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Thanks this week for financial support from Henry Blackwood for a contribution via PayPal in US$ but not necessarily to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5950, April 17 at 0000, WRMI with second of three consecutive Texas Radio Shortwave hours, this one being `Howdy Neighbor` with music by Oklahomans, or about us. I make a few but not continuous notes: Opening synthyl says broadcasting from the Arkansas River between Port of Catoosa and Fort Smith, Arkansas. Songs are pre-announced in groups of three; first including Jack Guthrie. 0011, a Cadillac Boogie; 0013 surfin` song despite no seacoast; 0019, Prop Me Up By The Jukebox If I Die; 0025 Tumblin` Tumbleweed by Gene Autry [who by sheer coincidence came from Gene Autry, Oklahoma!]; 0031 My Oklahoma by Bruce Springsteen, and no Muskogee; 0045 says neighbor next week will be New Mexico, and Patti Page coming up. 0058 best-for-last finale, Oklahoma from the Broadway musical and segué to YROT closing theme. Altho I could have heard it direct, for convenience at computer I`m listening via Knoxville SDR which is usually good for WRMI 5950. From advance publicity: ``New Texas Radio Shortwave Program: TRSW Says Howdy Oklahoma! At 0000 UTC, Sunday, April 17, On 5950 Khz, with music by Oklahoma artists and songs about the state. There are some big names on the artist list; also, we bet you’ve not heard of a few. Here’s the list: Big Chief Henry's Indian String Band, Bruce Springsteen, David Gates & The Country Boys, Gene Autry, Gene Pitney, Hinder, Jack Guthrie, Jimmy Liggins, Joe Diffie, Lester Young, Mary Kay Place, Oklahoma Movie Cast, Otto Gray & His Cowboy Band, Patti Page, Turnpike Troubadours, Wanda Jackson. The third eQSL in the series of four follows the design of the others. Email a reception report on at least 20 minutes of what you hear to texasradiosw@gmail.com`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** VANUATU. 11835, April 17 at 0609, R. Vanuatu with S8/S9 of talk, maybe English instead of Bislama, so third harmonic of 3945 still funxions; 7890 with JBA carrier at second (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1941 UT April 17 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
