Logs
** ALASKA. 9550, March 11 at 1554, hard rock music S4/S6, what`s this?
Only listed at 15-16 is KNLS in Russian; one of better signals on band
with depressed propagation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** AZORES [and non]. 6114, March 11 at 0723, the RTTY is still rampant
here from presumed US Navy, S9+10 abutting 6115 Japan S5/S8 with song
in English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6060, March 11 at 0722, RHC S9+10 of dead air except for hum,
all other frequencies off. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, March 11 at 1553, RHC Spanish with considerable hum
often infesting its legacy first frequency. Something`s always wrong
at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** IRAN [non]. 5910, Friday March 11 at 1730, another check for weekly
clandestine Channel 1 TV audio from Canoga Park via UZBEKISTAN: no
signal until humming carrier on at *1730.5, S9+10/15 into UTwente, JIP
modulation at 1732, all Farsi talk by different M & W voices, so
succeeds better than truncated transmissions previous weeks. No ID
heard. Surprisingly keeps going past 1800 a bit until 1802 mod chopped
off and then carrier* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2129 monitoring: missed checking UT
Friday March 11 at 0330 on WRMI 5985; did anyone hear it?

Confirmed still not airing Fri Mar 11 at 1530 on WRMI 9955, rather
gospel huxter. Jeff told me that that would stay at 1530 UT during
DST, strangely enough, so WOR could resume at summer time of 1430 from
March 18. Next:

UNIDENTIFIED. 7110 LSB, March 11 at 0536, UTwente still tuned here for
Ethiopia or non intruding broadcasters as in previous report, but no
longer any sign of that, off or outfaded into daytime? Instead, good
signals of QSOs in Russian, still past 0610. No callsigns heard
however, so not real hams? ``Priyom`` frequently which apparently
means ``cambio``; literally ``reception`` i.e. I am ready to receive
you. Pretty sure it was regular Russian at first but later maybe
involved some other Slavic language. I hoped someone could tell us
what they were talking about, but no replies to my inquiry (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 1849 UT March 11
