Hi all.I am looking for TOH ID recordings of Tianjin, China stations. Here is
why:
For a few years, I've helped many of you ID your Chinese clips. It's a
fun little challenge and I plan to continue it as long as I can
(anyone with some extra clips can always send them or post them!).
Last May, I started working on a project of recording Chinese TOH IDs
to create an easily searchable audio database of archived TOH IDs of
all Chinese stations organized by frequency as well as alphabetically
so everyone can more easily match IDs themselves. That project has now
netted me a whole 515 stations, two TOH IDs from each station plus
half-hour pips/IDs from those stations who have them. Most of the 515
stations are heard on multiple frequencies. I have documented
approximately 90-95% of the entire AM band in China, including almost
every language of CRI broadcasts and right down to the 1kw stations.
However...
The entire Tianjin market is missing. The broadcasting group in
Tianjin, which is a major city with numerous higher-powered stations,
uses none of the common streaming sites in China and their website is
outdated from the ages of their .asx audio streams. Even small town
stations can usually be found online, so such a major market with
nothing at all is notable.
I am missing the following frequencies from Tianjin: 567 666 747 909
1008 1071 1098 and 1386 (that is, all of them).
Some of you hear these stations on your own setup now and then or are
in the Arctic and know exactly when to listen. I don't have the time
to play with worldwide SDRs as I have an 8-month old that regularly
chases me down whenever I work on DX projects. None of the Asian SDRs
easily receive Tianjin; Korean ones are useless for AM, Russian and
South Asians are too far out, and Japanese are clogged with domestic
stations.
I am looking for a recording of each of these IDs at the TOH including
at least 1 minute before and after the ID (I usually end up with a
recording of 2-4 minutes total). I will take what I can get as
something is better than nothing at this point, as long as it is from
May or later.
If anyone has the means to help me get these IDs for the archive, I
would be extremely grateful for the help and your help will assist
other DXers in the future who use my database for UNIDs, giving me a
complete database.
