Hauser
** AUSTRALIA. (5035-USB), Jen replies to my reply about C.A.R.N.:

``[WOR] C.A.R.N. Correct stream & Pod --- I am sorry if for some
reason the wrong stream was working: I was testing at 1830 UT to ten
minutes before Live Cast begins: then at 1900 UT, GB gave me the OK to
go live: The following are first the live stream of Unique Radio:
http://uk4-vn.mixstream.net:8104/index.html?sid=1
The pod is here:
https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/uniqueradioaus

From now on, I will include the above info whenever I send out in WOR
& N.A.S.W.A. or any other platform. So you can Listen to the cast ---
live or in the pod. Again, if this has caused grief, then I apologize:
to all who have tried to tune in. From Unique Radio & C.A.R.N staff,
73" & YL 33"`` (via Glenn Hauser, WOR)

** CUBA. Correxion: typo 4883 instead of 4783, fixed:
4747 & 4783 approx., Jan 20 at 0212, loud wideband scratchy
spurblobs out of 4765 R. Progreso, into Colombia SDR worse than heard
here before, but all cut off air at 0213* Something`s always wrong at
RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, Jan 24 at 1553, RHC #1 legacy frequency is S9+10/20 of
dead air. Something`s always wrong at RHC. More or less nominal at
widely varying strength and modulation levels on 15230, 15140, 13700,
9710, 9535 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. Re: 6925 AM PIRATE (NORTH AMERICA) Jan 22 at 2308,
rock at S8-S9, 2309 English talk with background noise, ``-- Dog?
Radio``, ``if you don`t like it, tune your radio to a different
frequency``. Hmmm, hadn`t thought of that. Bet it`s not RCW Chile, a
prime time for it nor on 7610. These say it`s Goatherder Radio, a
Zekey station:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,91989.0.html
(Hauser, OK, via NASWA Flashsheet)

But about an hour later, this correlates better with my ``Dog`` log:

``6925 USB PIRATE (No. Am.) Small Dog Radio, 0017, 1.23.22. "Back to
origin" - periodic OTHR blasts throughout song, SSTV - late start
(fuzzy dog with sun glasses), "Fuzz soup"- both by Mud Spencer, "KONG
(Killing our natural gender) using “10 little Monkeys jumping on the
bed" - Samssun, woman ID, Off (Mark Taylor – WI, ibid.)

** SPAIN. On Fri, Jan 21, 2022 at 06:50 PM, Glenn Hauser wrote:

``Göbbels gave fascists in Spain a 20 kW Telefunken transmitter in
1936 first installed in Salamanca, then moved somewhere else, and
finally to Madrid with Franco`s victory in 1939; but WTFK??``

``1095 kHz or about 274 metres -- eventually. According to "The First
Radio War: Broadcasting in the Spanish Civil War, 1936-1939" by Alan
Davies (an interesting article but behind a paywall except for some
universities):

"When the mobile transmitter was first commissioned, it had problems
finding a clear frequency as all the internationally agreed channels
were already allocated. After using the wavelengths of various low
powered Republican transmitters, Radio Nacional officially 'settled'
on the channel of the principal 10 kW station in Madrid, Unión Radio,
EAJ-7." -- (Richard Langley``, WOR iog)

** TURKEY. 17720+, Jan 24 at 1547, JBA carrier obviously off
frequency, not measured but less than 100 Hz. As in Aoki, has to be V
of Turkey this hour only in Arabic. Something`s always erroneous at
Emirler. Hardly anything else on 16 mb, except 17630, 17660, 17830 JBA
signals or carriers (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Re 198 kHz, Reply to my latest report of DI W:
``It's assumed 198 DIW is on the standby transmitter, with its "DI W"
distinctive sound of its ident. It's done this now and then over the
past several years, in fact it was completely off the air for almost a
year before it finally got fixed and back on. If Vernon the RNA Editor
noted every such occurrence, he'd soon get tired of doing that, so in
this particular case has done nothing to the RNA entry. :) 73,
Steve AA7U (veteran NDB DXer since the 1980s) Ratzlaff``

OK, no big deal but without documenting every single span, a general
note about this like yours would be helpful (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 420 MCW kHz, Jan 24 at 0710 UT, FQ, 25 watt ND beacon at
Fairmont MN, one of my ``regulars`` audible again, far enough from the
local noise peak just below 400 kHz. Also could make out 407 kHz, HRU
in Kansas, but not anything around 395 which I know exist. Noise
gradually tapers off downward to 350 kHz (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2122 monitoring: confirmed Sunday January 23
at 2100 on AM Italia, 1323 kHz only, via Noale SDR, good over CCI
causing a slight fast SAH. Did not have a chance to recheck whether it
played to 2129 conclusion, unlike truncation last week.

Confirmed Sunday January 23 at 2330 on WRMI 5950, VG S9+35 into
Knoxville SDR.

Also confirmed UT Mon Jan 24 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, S9+20 into Missouri
SDR.

NOT confirmed UT Mon Jan 24 at 0130 on WRMI 9395, replaced without
notice by some ham radio show at 01-02 also on 5950. WRMI program sked
grid continues to claim 9395 shows during this hour are also on 9455,
NOT the case.

Confirmed UT Mon Jan 24 at 0230 on WRN North America webcast.

Confirmed UT Mon Jan 24 at 0402 tune-in already underway on Area 51
via WBCQ 6159.950, S6-S9 direct. Next:

2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [jammed?]
1030 UT Wednesday WRMI 5850 to NW
2200 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 15770, Jan 23 at 2010, this WRMI is quite undermodulated, on
the Maine SDR compared to just as big sigs from 15825 WWCR, 15610 WEWN
--- the latter with its persistent squeal. 15770 not making it at all
to UTwente, Euro target at 44 degrees! January 24 at 1550, 15770 is
still just barely modulated, presumably SMTV, S9+10 direct (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1130 kHz, Jan 24 at 1545 UT check, KLEY Wellington KS is
*still* dead air, S9+20 semi-local groundwave, also 24 hours vs KWKH
at night. I find it remarkable that no DX editors seem to be
interested in this incredible situation. If KLEY are not interested in
// 100.3 translator, might as well run continuous IDs as a DX test on
1130, ha. It could still be DXed from afar and logged as carrier only
if DFed to Wellington. 250 W day power (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 2097.3 CW, Jan 24 at 0707 UT, single-letter beacon A
every dekasecond, from anywhere but Quartzsite AZ. Also run across a
number of times lately without logging for the record; programming is
a bit boring and inadequate. It will be news if during good condx it
not be heard again. Quite weak but sufficient (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 1717 UT January 24
