Without two receivers at hand, cannot make them // for sure but seems to be the case per dxinfocentre.com schedules, the latter VBQ-22 as Natashquan (Escoumins) 600 watts, both starting at *0437. But where are these, what provinces? Escoumins is on north shore of St. Lawrence River, in Québec. So is Natashquan, due north of the east end of Anticosti Island. Les Escoumins is much further upstream, across the `river` west of Rimouski. WORLD OF RADIO 2121 monitoring: confirmed first broadcasts, UT Friday January 14 at 0130 on WRMIs: 5850, VG direct; 7780, S8/S9+15 into UTwente SDR. OK except cuts off my closing again. Also confirmed UT Fri Jan 14 at 0330 on WRMI 5985, JBA direct, but at 0352 check, S7/S9+10 into Knoxville SDR; some 5980 jamming ACI audible at fades, unless in AM Narrow, or Synch USB mode, which shows +25-28 Hz carrier offset, more than usual for a WRMI. So I compare it to WWV on 5 MHz, which shows +21-22 Hz high! Which WWV certainly is not. Rx calibration is off, so WRMI would really be only +4-6 Hz. Need to do this habitually when possible, citing SDR offsets. Also confirmed UT Fri Jan 14 at 1530 on WRMI 9955, S9+10/20 direct, no jamming audible. Cut off at 1529 was a strange-sounding drama. Also confirmed Friday January 14 from 1916 on IRRS via Bulgaria, 7290, after ~minute of dead air, cut on WOR play at end of opening. As usual, previous IRRS programming also cut on late just before 1901 with Feature Story News already in progress; 1908 song fill and more music; 1915 dump to dead air for a minute. Today it`s S9+30 into UTwente, not so much problem from much weaker ChiCom ACI de 7295. As for 918 kHz, AM Italia via Noale SDR: tuned at 1901 // FSN, and probably was not joined late, S9+10; nothing audible on 207 kHz, and something else on 1323. Also went to music fill at 1908, and dead air at 1915, but unlike 7290, stayed dead with no WOR! Finally 1918, roboYL ID in English as ``AM Italy``, and ``Have a good listening``. And more music past 1926 when I quit monitoring both as I`m due to visit Box 1684. WOR 2121 confirmed Fri Jan 14 at 2140 tune-in to 918 kHz, S9+11 via Noale with only lite CCI; and this time WOR is underway, presumably from 2130 start, and NOT chopped off air at end but complete to 2159, then a bit of ``Honkey Tonk Blues``, IRRS ID over Inter/Madrid timesignal, and 2200 Feature Story News. Alfredo Cotroneo says this has been supposed to stay on until 2205, and now it finally is on longer than WOR. Laments USA has never gone metric. Standardization is essential. Disses electric cars, bronx cheer. 0120 implies that Biden is cognitively incompetent, and Harris is ``the greatest whore`` (or was that, horror? enunciate!) 0123 musing on whether our reality could be a computer simulation? 0139 about the Webb telescope, and Allan mixing up his underwear; 0149 finally datestamp as 14th of January, YOOL 2022; invites email. 0151 article about AM radio degraded due to high-frequency suppression, 10 kHz max, even worse on SW, 5 kHz limit due to channel spacing. (KYAH approached me last April, but with 13 watts at night?) John Carver`s version: ``Tonight's show started on time on 6160 and 7490. Both signals could be copied but 7490 had the best signal so listening to that this evening. Allan and Angela in the studio. Opening banter between Allan and Angela about how she's dressed for radio. Talk of the weather in Maine and in Fla. Then complains about the US never adopting the metric system and then a small mini rant about what a pain in the ass it's created. Then onto electric cars. Allan wants manufacturers to standardize batteries, connectors, measurements, tools etc. Then onto politics talking about the Supreme Court and vaccine mandates. Allan then asks us to prove to him that we're not living in a computer simulation then expands on this for a bit. Signal on 7490 starts to degrade around 0133 so switch to 6160. Then talk of the new space telescope and a report that says it has unfolded completely with no problems. Then Allan relays a strange story about finding his underwear was on backwards after a trip to the bathroom and he swears it was not backwards before that. He calls it a Matrix moment. A glitch in the program. At 0152 he reads an article from Radio World about quality of audio in AM radios. A quick reading of some emails at 0158 and he's cutoff at 0200 just as he announces the closing prayer. Yes, 5085 with rock S9+30 in broad daylight over a megameter path. B-21 FCC shows 5085 available 24 hours beamed due south; but 5830 only 00-14, at 50 degrees. Between 14 and 02, supposed to be on 9475, if at all. Evidently Ted thinx FCC rules are so flexible. It seems that in practice, #2 can be on without #1 too, but not vice versa. Except maybe when #1 be really on 9475 like Sunday mornings. FCC also OKs these but hardly ever used: 9930, 14-24 at 180 degrees 9940, 00-24 at 40 degrees 15810, 00-24 at 40 degrees The top two would be the #3 transmitter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0232 UT January 15
