** CANADA [and non]. 800 kHz, April 14 at 0606 UT, after hearing Mexican NA probably XEROK, where it`s ``midnight``, English talkshow giving phone 1-800-675-1010. Most likely CKLW Windsor, easily dominant here despite KQCV and the other 800s at night; so suspect with a network program originating at 1010 CFRB, Toronto. Anyone confirm? Reverse phone lookups are extremely unhelpful. Both are now iHeart stations with same show `Power Play` at 2 am, but websites show different call-in numbers. There are 5 other Canadians on 800, the others not listed as news/talk (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 5025, April 14 at 0552, R. Rebelde is S9+20/30, just barely modulated, minuscule improvement since my last check at 0109 of a trace. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 13912, 13841, 13771; 13629, 13559, 13489, 13418, 13348, 13268-trace, all wide and approx., April 14 at 1317, spurblobs out of 13700-AM RHC, with F# tones and in FM quiet audio on the closer ones, approx 70-71 kHz intervals. 13981-trace, 13911, 13841, 13770; 13630, 13560, 13490, 13420, 13279-trace, April 14 at 1353, another survey finds them slightly different averaging closer to 70 kHz. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11880, April 14 at 2223, this RHC is off while it should have been in French; while 11950 is on early? By 2315-2317, 11880 is on during English, merely S9, undermodulated during North American weather outlook but fade down when name of Chief Meteorologist is outroed. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, April 14 at 0602, JBA carrier, in bandscan going up from 531 kHz, now too late to hear anything from Europe, until I get to 1215; but not too early to hear R. Kiribati in the UT +14 zone equivalent to UT -10 plus a day. Really no other possibility so I dare not to declare it unID tho I never get any audio (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 341-MCW kHz, April 14 at 0558 UT, Enid`s one and only ND beacon, EI, is reactivated at Woodring Airport, 25 watts. Checking for it nightly, not heard since March 26, when it showed briefly after another silence since March 15. Now mixing with OIN, Oberlin, Kansas. EI still on, alone and reconfirmed in daytime 2128 UT April 14. For how long this time? (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SAUDI ARABIA. 17614.986, April 14 at 1405, JBA carrier and also the SSOB and OSOB, surely SRI/SBA, which used to be slightly offset to the plus side, now varying more downward (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** SPAIN. 17855, April 14 at 2058, REE is JBA S2, but axually improves later, N American frequency both on the air and propagating this late for the first time in the A-21 season. By 2157 it`s S7-S8 and better than 15520 now which was S5 an hour ago. 11940 is S5-S7 as token Wednesday English starts at 2200. 11685 for Africa, normally the worst, is now S6-S8. Justin Coe introduces: feature after some news will be about the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Second Republic in 1931y; and concluding about Catalan composer Federico Mompou. First news by Alison is doubling of COVID-19 cases in Spain due to a fourth wave caused by eased restrixions for Holy Week {DUH!). 17855 down to S7 by 2207, some fadeouts to 2210. At 2211, 15520 a JBA carrier; 2212 about República 2 underway as I find 11940 best. By 2214, 17855 is almost gone. We shall hear how well it hold up as more and more insolation brighten the North Atlantic path over the next bimonth, with 17855 starting out at ``midnight`` local time for English. Probability of sporadic E boosting it into further F2 refraxions is also going up but unreliable (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, April 14 at 2158, VOT IS vs RTTY, so is on today; 2205 during English news, careful `545 notching almost eliminates the RTTY as variable bandwidth and passband also help audiblize it. But TRT can hardly expect such capability at every receiver. Something`s always awry at Ankara (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2081 monitoring: Richard Langley, NB, confirms the 0230 UT Monday April 12 on WRMI 7780 but 5800 not checked. Confirmed here Wednesday April 14 at 2100 & 2200 the pileup of airings late in the program week: at 2100, JBA on WRMI 7780; and ~20 seconds later on WBCQ 7489.92v, S7-S8. Also confirmed at 2200 on WRMI 9955, S9 peaks but fades vs jamming. Next, and last: 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Our non-commercial broadcasts and website depend on voluntary support: thanks this week to Randy Stewart, Battlefield MO, via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com Not necessarily in US funds, and says, ``Glenn, it's about time I contributed to your (virtually) lifelong efforts on behalf of DXers!`` One may also contribute, by MO or check in US funds on a US bank to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 4905, April 14 at 0553, JBA carrier vs CODAR. Normally hear nothing, sometimes RTTY. Certainly not Tibet at midday there, leaving R. Relógio Federal, Brasil, which is sometimes reported but not by me. IIRC despite the legacy timesignal name, it`s gospel-huxter programming, the only other known possibility; unless another ute (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 2350 UT April 14 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/
