** CUBA. 13700, March 25 at 1431, RHC is S9+30, plenty strong yet no spur galaxy around it today. // 15140 during `Sonido Cubano` music is S9+10 but overmodulated/distorted. Something`s still always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 12360, March 26 at 0112, CRI English relay at S9+10/20 somewhat undermodulated yet louder than S9+20 6180 of which this is X2. 6180 has QRM from Brasil or even CRI East Turkistan; 12360 in the clear but some deep fading. I should WOOBandscan around here more often. CRI relays on 5990 and 5910 have also harmonicized on 11980 and 11820. Shortly in A21, 12360 and 6180 will be gone, and so will 5910 and 11820 as CRI/HABana as usual ascends to 9580 at 01-03, and 9790 at 03-05 whose 19-20 MHz harmonix are unlikely to propagate except maybe for a lucky summer sporadic E opening (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 11840, March 26 at 0116, RHC is S9 with suptorted Spanish modulation, and also S9 on 11860, but QRMing the noise jamming against nothing --- or rather Cuba is jamming itself, yay! These two are the parasitic spurs 10 kHz from fundamental 11850 which is S9+30 and suptorted. For quite some time 11850 was parasite-free, but now has resumed better than ever; as they used to be JBA carriers with modulation hard to detect. Have they reswapped different transmitters? Meanwhile, // fundamental 11760 is S9+10 and undermodulated; 11670 is S9+10/20 undermodulated and distorted. Somethings` always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 9700, March 26 at 0124, something very strange which has got to be RHC transmitter, but not in English as scheduled, left to 6000 only. S9+10 with drama dialog in Spanish but long pauses of background noises, music. Smax of TV soundtrack on a novela! Also overmodulated, distorted. Not // RHC Spanish either, 11760 etc., nor the domestic SW frequencies 5025, 4765. A totally wrong program feed is going into and out of this unit. Still thus past 0217. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** EAST TURKISTAN. 9590, March 26 at 0122, weak S7-S9 YL in Spanish with flutter; still past 0132+. It`s CRI scheduled at 01-03 from Kashgar. Here`s something else about SW City, also land of ChiCom imperialist genocide against the Uyghurs, I happened to see on CNN: China's crackdown in Xinjiang has separated Uyghur children from their parents. CNN found two of them - CNN https://www.cnn.com/2021/03/18/china/xinjiang-uyghur-families-china-amnesty-report-exclusive-dst-intl-hnk/index.html 15+ minute audiovideo as seen on AC360 UT March 25 circa 0530. Also transcript with photos, maps, graphs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 341-MCW kHz, March 26 at 0205 UT, EI, Woodring Airport, EnId ND beacon is back on! Latest outage started March 15. I check at random times day or night, and assume once it`s off it stays off until heard again. But I wonder if this or some other LW/MW beacons at minor airports operate only irregularly depending on when there are really incoming flights needing them, on request? Power saving of 25 watts would hardly justify the trouble of turning them off and on. BTW, Deirdre Gurry, the new AP director I met on a visit about EI in October 2019, has already moved on after receiving an award; she was replaced the following September by Keston Cook (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. The only fuzzy fit in NRC AM Log is: KCRV, Caruthersville MO, which is on the River in the Bootheel, east of Kennett where it`s addressed; U1 1000/63 watts, really? E-W longwire does favor it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** VANUATU. 11835, March 25 at 0606, JBA carrier presumed R. Vanuatu, 3945 x 3; but nothing heard on 7890 = 3945 x 2. Will 11835 have a CCI problem in A-21? Yes, tentative HFCC shows nothing on 11835 but CNR China, 150 kW, 257 degrees from Xi`an site at 0000-1300! There was nothing at all in B-20 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNSOLICITED TESTIMONIAL +++++++++++++++++++++++ Glenn, I appreciate your dedication to the broadcast medium and information that you provide to DXers world wide.
