** CANADA [non]. Re 15300.055V, under GERMANY, BVB, March 19 at 1439: altho EiBi shows site as Nauen, latest HFCC shows ISSoudun, FRANCE started 01 February; not as BVB but generically as MBR multilingual. ISS is more likely to be off-frequency than NAU, but it could be even more likely TAC = Uzbekistan, as Wolfgang Bueschel points out registered for A-21 by MBR BOTH for UZB and F; maybe already (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MADAGASCAR. 11609.960, March 19 at 2144, Chinese from MWV is considerably off-frequency; usual good signal far beyond target Europe, not China. [non] Recheck at 2235, now a JBA on 11610.00, which is KSDA GUAM in Vietnamese (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** NORTH AMERICA. 6960-AM, UT Sat March 20 at 0128, only pirate activity here at S8-S9, ``Proud to be an American``; 0131 Kermit The Frog, ``It`s Not Easy Bein` Green``; 0133.6 ID missed, another ``green`` song? Maybe a theme à la Wolverine. ``Check out our new website``, https://ballsmacker.net by YL with tenpins SFX. 0144 ``Ballad of the Green Bérets``. 0146 ID, more music. 0200 Maxine offers special eQSL for reports on this broadcast, to ballsmacker@protonmail.com and then soft jazz arrangement of `What Child Is This?`. 0207 ID mentioning 6960; still going past 0213. Enjoyed the show. Above is from my own notes from the R75 with 100` E-W longwire, written before consulting HF Underground where there are bound to be many more reports: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,79272.0.html starting at 0102, including from station herself, to be repeated later, not yet in AM $ tereo but plans to do so (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 1460, March 19 at 1826 UT on caradio, KZUE El Reno music modulation is cutting out rapidly at rate of maybe 8 times per minute. Maybe CD player malfunxion? Nothing done about it until fade to dead air at 1831 which continues until at least 1837. I was going to count/time the cutting per second against my watch, but driving, and it stopped before I could stop (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** SPAIN. 9690, Friday March 19 between precise timesignals at 2300:00 and 2330:00, REE token English M/W/F broadcast, starts with Justin Coe with new schedule effective March 28 for REE in general, nothing about English in particular, but likely shifting to 2200. Here is how he put it: M-F 15-23 W Africa, S Atlantic 11670; Mideast, Indian Ocean 15520 M-F 18-02 N America 17855; South America 11940 Sat & Sun same frequencies and targets at 14-22 Once again, no mention of present NAm frequency 9690, which BTW is near-local-quality now, S9+30. A much higher frequency in the summer daytime is certainly needed, 17855 as used a few years ago, and it will be interesting to see how well and how long it hold up, as NO other European, nor anywhere overseas, is even attempting to serve us on 16m! But over mostly- or all-dark path a much lower frequency is required, like 9690, after, say, 2200. Anyhow, I listen to the rest of the semihour, as Alison Hughes introduces a `Culture` show, first about Bellini`s opera `Norma` being produced at the Teatro Real, including beautiful yet heard-rending performances of the aria `Casta Diva`. Next topic at 2321, cinema chain reopens after closing in February, with new COVID restrixions. Then, film-music composer García Abril has died. ``Antón García Abril (Teruel, 19 de mayo de 1933 – Madrid, 17 de marzo de 2021) fue un compositor y músico español, autor de música orquestal, música de cámara, obras vocales y bandas sonoras para películas y series de televisión.`` hit as I search on his name. 2327, refers to other platforms besides SW for hearing REE, with detailed parameters of all their satellite feeds to different worldparts. 2330 TS and into French (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 6994-USB, 0123 UT Sat March 20, MARS announcements, but never caught the callsign of the individual reading. As I tune in, is spelling e-mail address mallen@afmars.mil.us then on to paragraph 4. Good S9+10 but bad news for the low-power Florida propagation carriers JBA beating on 6993-AM. Considering starting an e-mail newsletter to supplement this broadcast. A bit of CW QRM. ``Masters of the HF domain``. Info about next broadcasts, even revealing frequencies! 02 April 2021, 2300z, 11121.0 kHz; 2320z, 6994.0 kHz. 03 April 2021, 0100z, 11121.0 kHz; 0120z, 11121.0 kHz, and 6994.0 kHz. This broadcast is supported by the 12th Air Force MARS Military Signal Squadron; out`` at 0127 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 17314-USB, March 19 at 2253, S9+10 marine weather by roboOM, very loud at first and modulation somewhat distorted as usual from USCG stations, later fading considerably. Wind direxions and speeds in knots, seas in feet, sometimes rain chances but little else, day by day and night by night as far ahead as next Tuesday. ``Forecaster: Huffman; Ocean Predixion Center, Washington DC``, phone number in Norfolk; then forecasts for California coast. EiBi shows NMC, USCG Point Reyes CA at 2230-2305 & 1630-1705; but also on 17314 at 1715-1750, NMN USCG Chesapeake VA. Probably sporadic E opening, as I was just getting a ham in AZ on 18 MHz band (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. John Carver tells us about this week`s WBCQ `AAAWWW` at 0100 UT Sat Mar 20: ``Tonight's AAWWW started on time on 6160 and 7490. Allan and Angela in the studio. Opening talk about being kids in high school. Also some talk about still trying to find some more radio engineers. We also find out that the B in WBCQ stands for Big Balls Radio according to Allan. More talk about Allan teaching himself to be an engineer. Then into general radio talk about AM, FM and SW. The advent of digital radio and the implication of being controlled. Then into talk of repairing old radios. Allan states that he's not restoring as many radios as he used to and I don't understand his reasoning. They've been talking about young people not being interested in radio anymore and the lack of engineers and Allan states he's not restoring as many radios so that young people can see what they look like not being restored. Angela held out until 0043 before mentioning Trump or politics in general though she did make a remark early in the show about Covid and the vaccine. Allan also stated that he believed that a lot of WBCQ would be able to withstand an EMP pulse but that the superstation probably wouldn't. Reading of emails at 0055 after Angela flashed Allan. Cut off in mid email just before 0100 with no closing prayer and then into dead air. John, Mid-North Indiana`` (via Glenn Hauser, WOR) This report dispatched at 0325 UT March 20
