It`s dominant until I change to the R75 on E-W longwire where it`s mixing with talk in English, got to be K`KOB or WABC. Would have expected closest and strongest 770 XEACH Monterrey, but soon confirmed that be still with rival network Radio Fórmula - but why nothing of it: is XEACH off or emigrated? Searching on W Radio network site, cannot find any affiliate list but one other hit is promising: https://www.facebook.com/wradiomx/ ``(W) RADIO llega a ZACATECAS 770`` WRTH 2021 also has this: ``ZC08 XEFRTM 770 25/1 Fresnillo F.Pl.`` 2020 IRCA Mexican log has four 770s, including this one on W network: ``XEFRTM Zacatecas Fresnillo 10000 1000 Transmisiones Mik VAR W [net] new station to replace XEIH which has finished moving to FM. Reported testing 7/20`` XEFRTM first appeared in DXLD 17-29 of July 19, 2017 as Raymie was discussing new concessions, this one leading to a Nissan dealership in Fresnillo illustrated with a streetview. In my log now, I have not heard Zacatecas or Fresnillo mentioned; plugged into XEW-900 net feed which is more QRMed and not necessarily //. 900 Doble-U appears to be mainly talk, but may have an English-musical subnetwork, as on XEWA 540? Or ``VAR`` encompass everything. Fresnillo is 1541 km = 958 stmi from Enid. But would seem uncomfortably close to Monterrey NL for two co-channel stations, 375 km = 233 st mi apart. On October 27, 2020, IRCA Mexican Log editor Tim Hall reported: ``XEFRTM-770 Fresnillo, Zacatecas (replacement for the widely-heard XEIH which moved to FM several years ago) is reportedly on the air with 25 kW and W Radio programming via some kind of a lease agreement. Slogan is apparently W Radio Zacatecas. The W Radio network has seemingly not yet created individual web sites for their newer stations like XEQRMD-1310 and XEFRTM-770. Also others such as 1539.96 presumed KGBC. Identity of the 1540.2 signal discussed further: ``It may be WKQV 1540 in Eatonton, GA. I live in the Atlanta metro area. Although I don’t typically travel ESE of Atlanta in the direction of Eatonton, GA (south of Madison, GA), I was in Loganville, GA on Sunday afternoon 7 March from 1900 to 2100 UT. Loganville is a little closer to Eatonton than my home location and in the (theoretical) deep fringe of the station WKQV ground wave. I could definitely detect a steady (not fading) het on 1540 on my car radio. No audio detected just the distorted het. Considering the sale of the station for $ 10 recently to a Rev preacher, the financial situation at the station would not be stellar which could result in the disrepair of the transmitter. - Harry Smith, Buford, GA`` WOR iog More from Harry at 2027 UT March 8: ``I have been tuning in to 1540 since 1900 UT and the station causing the het is modulating! It is a gospel format but no station ID heard at 2000 UT. I am able to hear it at my home location now and also on the Woodstock, GA KiWiSDR where I approximate the center frequency to be about 1540.195 kHz. I have confirmed that the gospel music on 1540.195 kHz does not correspond with the live webstream of WTBI 1540 in Picken, SC. The gospel music programming on 1540.195 kHz does not correspond to WOGR in Charlotte, NC. WBIN in Tennessee is apparently off the air on 1540 kHz. So it looks like the gospel music programming coming from the 1540.195 kHz might be WKVQ in Eatonton, GA. Further monitoring at 2025 UT shows a very slow fades at my home location of Buford, GA and at the Woodstock, GA KiWiSDR location for the signal at 1540.195 kHz as if the skywave is fading with the ground wave signal. - Harry Smith, Buford, GA`` ``Listening here as well as on several online SDRs points to SE US location, probably GA or SC. MD, VA, NC receivers had somewhat better signals than here. Just a weak het on the Rockport, ME, the Edinburgh, IN, and the Key West, FL KiwiSDR sites. So I think we're zoomed in on the Carolinas, GA, TN, AL. 0500 and 0600 UTC / 6 MAR checks produced no definitive top-of-hour ID material, just back to back Black Gospel vocals. The three normal 1540 stations here - ZNS, CHIN, KXEL - are all within 20 Hz of 1540.0 nominal. Mark Connelly, WA1ION | South Yarmouth, MA | FN41vq``, IRCA iog. Welcome to Brock Whaley, back with us on the WOR iog, March 8: ``Subject: 1540 What the het is that? From Aiken, SC, 107 miles S of 1540 kHz WTBI Pickens, SC. 1510-1530 UT, Loud low het towards WTBI 1540 kHz on the loop. Covering their slow white choir gospel music and preaching with the loop aimed north. JBA signal in the WTBI null (WKVQ?, WOGR?), and the het decreases sharply when WTBI is nulled. Will try again at 1700 (12 noon local) as daytime skywave still strong here at 10:10 AM local with WCKY 1530 kHz Cincinnati pinning the meter with Mike Greenburg ESPN show and WVON 1690 kHz [Chicago] still in with talk of the George Floyd trial. With those conditions a bit surprised I hear no audio in the WTBI null, but BFO indicates another carrier. Brock Whaley Aiken, SC, Palomarloop, phaser for cardioid pattern, tunable pre-amp, R-1000`` And from Brock later, March 8: ``The 1540 heterodyne at approx. 1540.200a kHz peaks and nulls to the east of me [must mean west --- gh]. Towards the direction of WKVQ Eatonton, GA. And in the WTBI Pickens null. On the waterfall it is severely under modulated, if not just running dead air. The sidebands on WTBI are much more robust and it is centered at 1540.015. Their daytime groundwave has a fair signal here. This at 1700-1800 (12 noon-1 PM local). The residual skywave I mentioned earlier (WCKY etc.) is gone and the SDR allows for much better frequency identification and investigation than the R-1000. Of course, WKVQ is a daytimer, but could this be the one? It's been known to happen. Brock Whaley Aiken, SC, Palomar loop, ANC-4, tunable pre-amp, SDR Play (used here), and many more`` (Glenn Hauser, WOR) It looks like Harry and Brock have got it as WKVQ. Another reply March 8 on the WOR iog, from the bearings may be something completely different: ``The carrier was visible on my Airspy HF+ Discovery all night here in the Rochester, NY area, at about 1540.215. Here the dominant station is KXEL in Waterloo, Iowa. CHIN-1540, across Lake Ontario in Toronto, is only barely audible or even visible on the display at times, as I am in its deepest null. I thought it might be WSIV out of Syracuse, NY at 57 watts (if they are even on the air), but the signal disappeared totally after sunrise. I tried a little DFing with my YouLoop and it seems to peak at a WSW direction, possibly about 250 degrees. Of course it might be 180 from that at 70 degrees too - WXEX, New Hampshire?, but at only 3 watts? I don't think so, as the heterodyne at times is "somewhat" strong and varies only 10-20 dB down from KXEL's signal. I don't believe it to be a spur from KXEL itself, as the carrier level varies differently from KXEL during fade ups and downs. A mystery. I'll check again tonight.
