** COLOMBIA. 4940, Sept 13 at 0021, JBA direct anonymous missionary station; from 0117 via Bonaire KiwiSDR: S9 and with typical AMSynch carrier offset minus 3.2 to 3.5 Hz, usual long-winded gospel huxter in Spanish citing Isaiah 11, 12. 0120 prayer and cut to produced promo for ``la película La Montaña, gratis`` via internet, usual URL which dispenses with ñ for just plain n; song; 0135 same promo again; 0320 recheck weakened to S5-S7, preacher in Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6960-USB, Sept 13 at 0024, pirate rock music S5-S6; I`m mostly monitoring on the backup PL-880 with reelout while bandscanning on the JRC, and DJ keeps interjecting brief comments the starts of which I miss until retuned on main rx. 0028 says the tune is one he has not heard before. 0034 refers to music from years 1974 & 1975; 0045 another break with Morse code; 0047 sudden CW mixing with music, partially copied as WDOG. 0048 weaker with voice ID? 0052 wild SFX; 0100 SynthYL ID over music sounds like ``Radio Station E-X-P``. Many other logs of WDOG, but none with CW IDs, nor EXP as I heard: https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,71552.0.html (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA [and non]. Area tropo levels 1-2 and barely 3 over northern OK per Hepburn maps predicted for 1500 UT September 13, so UHF/VHF bandscan via my still-broken antenna from 1507 finds the following situation, by RF channels only: OKC channels no good due to DX QRM: 33, 29, 27, 23, 18, 15, 13, 7 BAD DX signals only, not decoding: 36, 35, 32, 30, 26, 21, 11, 10, 9 DX decodes: Tulsa mkt 34, 28, 22, 20; Wichita tho beyond map area: 31 (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2051 monitoring: confirmed Sat Sept 12 at 1932 UT on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, Wentzville MO, VG S9+10 at the KiwiSDR nearby in Warrenton, about 2 minutes into, so started circa nominal 1930. Also confirmed Sat Sept 12 at 2323 the 2300 on WRMI 7780, poor S8-9 here. Also confirmed via Warrenton SDR, UT Sun Sept 13 at 0322 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, about 3 minutes into so started circa 0319. But ending at 0347.6. Altho originally 29.0 minutes long, timing is skewed by removal of most of my opening due to music banned from ham, but WA0RCR IDs inserted every dekaminute. Not near computer so not switching to $ tereo webfeed; probably a rerun anyway (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. 9840, Sun Sept 13 at 1357, JBA carrier so I measure to determine if it`s still off-frequency-minus VOV scheduled until 1530? No, 9840.004, finished measuring just in time when bigsig from WHRI cuts on with no ID. The JBA one was probably Turkey scheduled here before and after 1400; per Aoki/NDXC, WHRI weekends only, supposed to be on Sundays from 1200 until off at 1400, while Saturdays extended until 1600; not so (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1360, UT Sun Sept 13 at 0620 I`m trying for WNJC DX test on the second night, by tuning to 1361.0-USB in case I can detect some of the non-vocal SFX, and maybe I get a bit: 0623.7 JBA sweep tones briefly; 0631.7 continuous tone; 0658 one ``V`` in Morse as known to introduce the CW IDs; was it cut off? Do these match exact timings as heard by others or logged by station? FCC AM Query shows day pattern with one major lobe centered at 155 degrees --- not good for most of us. https://transition.fcc.gov/Bureaus/MB/Databases/AM_DA_patterns/503852-69972.pdf As Harold Frodge points out, here`s another version of their daytime coverage map supposedly in force during second night test, mostly going SSE out into the ocean: https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WNJC&service=AM&h=D (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 9-kHz, JBA MW carrier search, Sept 13 at 0607 with presumed likely sources this late: 936-Morocco, 846-Kiritimati, 684-Spain, 711-Morocco, 621-Canaries, 1107-Spain. BTW, it`s neat to be getting at same time on MW both Xmas Island and Agadir, Morocco, which are this far apart: 15051 km = 9352 statute miles = 8127 nautical miles.. The direct GC path between them passes over California, Salt Lake, Lake Superior, Newfoundland (Glenn Hauser, OK WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 6999.9-LSB, Sept 13 at 0022, QSO in Spanish escaping the 40m band, one nicknamed Tigre; uses ham lingo like `QSL` meaning I copied you, not a card; cumpleaños greeting (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1936 UT September 13
