** CHINA [non?]. 15110, April 22 at 1420, JBA Chinese with flutter, during an hour VOA Chinese is via Tinang, PHILIPPINES, but more likely CNR1 jammer. Nothing else like it on band, nor below 15000; and the Cubans on 15140 & 15230 are abnormally weak (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 711.00, April 23 at 0044, weak carrier hetting 710.00 stations; this time I DF and confirm it from SE/NW, i.e. one of the Radios Rebeldes, not NE/SW from Eurafrica. See also UNID (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 15436 & 15304 S8; 15240 & 15500 S6; 15176 S2 & 15566 S3; 15110 S2-S3 & 15632 trace, April 21 at 2139-2146, panoply of approx. spurblobs at approx. 64-66 kHz intervals up to fourth orders out of 15370 RHC which is S9+25. Totally unreadable in SSB, but somewhat in FM or AM, also with tone which seems like the usual F# above Cmiddle, tho not measured. Obviously the same transmitter which would do the same out of 13700 in the mornings, but not lately whenever checked almost daily. Welcome back! Fortunately none of these collide with any legit broadcasts, the 19m band is so vacant. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** CUBA. 13740, April 21 at 2147, RHC Spanish suptorted at S8; 11850 is just barely modulated, more modest problems than of 15370. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. 6185, April 22 at 0135, XEPPM S9+10 but JBM if at all; ACI from 6180 Brasil. But an update via Manuel Méndez, Lugo, Spain to the WOR io group. ``Radio Educación, 6185, has changed its schedule again, as inform me Julián Santiago Díez de Bonilla, from Ciudad de México, new schedule: from 2200 to 1000 UTC, instead of 2000-0800. This station, in my opinion, has problems with the transmitter, past days strong carrier but very weak audio, sometimes barely audible or inaudible, today improved signal. Today, 21-04 heard here in Lugo, 0456-0640, strong carrier, very weak audio, comments and songs in Spanish. QRM from VoA on 6180 from 0500 to 0630. Heard via SDR Kiwi remote receiver in Brownsville, Texas, 0901-1000, 21-04, Mexican songs, ID at 0916: "Señal 1060 AM, 100.000 watts de potencia, Radio Educación, la señal cultural de México". At times fair and clear signal, but at times very weak, barely audible.`` Re MW 1060 XEEP: tho their IDs as heard even on SW always proclaim 100,000 watts, they are supposed to cut to only 20,000 at night and go direxional, I have no idea whichaway. But it certainly is no dominant signal here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, April 22 circa 2215, VP signal but VOT English appears to be on today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2030 monitoring: confirmed Wed Apr 22 at 2127 the 2100 on WBCQ 7490.2, JBA. Also confirmed UT Thu Apr 23 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, good via UTwente SDR in Holland. WOR 2031 should be ready by early UT Fri Apr 24, for first USSW broadcast Friday at 2200 on WRMI 9955. Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcasts: http://www.worldofradio.com/radioskd.html Thanks this week for financial support from Gerald T. Pollard, Raleigh NC, who sent a generous US$ cheque to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5129.987, UT Wed April 22 at 0127, WBCQ with `Amateur Radio Roundtable`, S9+10/20 but heavy approaching storm noise level impossiblizes copy, other than interviewee sounds like a S Asian accent. Almost on-frequency as this transmitter has achieved lately. So is 6160v also on again, //? Apparently so as signature off-frequency 6159.917V has a JBA signal combined with high storm noise level to register S7-S9. Recheck 0222, 5130 still going but if it`s really the other WBCQ, JBA carrier in storm noise now measured down to 6159.703V (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 711.00, April 22 at 0225, two JBA carriers slightly apart beating, one or both Cuban or TA? Cursory check of 9-kHz TA frequencies vs storm noise level detects 828, 945, but interestingly, not 531, 549 nor 891, the usual Algerians (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0123 UT April 23
