** AUSTRIA. John Figliozzi replies on the WOR iog to my 6155 log: ``OK, it’s not on HF and it’s not classical music… but those looking for English language news from Austria will find plenty of it on the bilingual (German/English) ORF domestic youth network fm4 streamed over the Internet from: https://fm4.orf.at John Figliozzi`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 13650, April 8 at 2329, CRI relay `Portuguese` service of music only is S9+20/30 but extremely suptorted. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba. Why in the world haven`t they just turned off this failed service months ago? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. 6185-, April 8 by 1907 UT, now I can pull a JBA carrier slightly off-frequency-minus as a 2-megameter day-path remnant of reactivated XEPPM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 27186, April 8 at 1910 and still 2243 recheck, some lokel yokel is jamming the prime CB frequency with continuous S9+10 buzz. Well, there are plenty of other channels, all with zero activity (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9830, April 8 at 2244, JBA signal presumed VOT active today. Wonder if something else be erroneous at Emirler, like reduced power, reception has been so poor lately even when on. 7275, April 9 at 0258, VOT IS & English IDs, fair via Alexandria SDR, but undermodulated with some hum; timesignal one second late but may have been internet delay. This time YL instead of usual OM announcer, opening without full wrong English schedule but only ``this`` is the 1230 on 15450! plus satellite info; something`s always awry at Ankara; into news of topic-V; 0307 enough already, into Turkish song. At least no QRhaM to be heard (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2028 monitoring: confirmed Wednesday April 8 at 2100:20 on WBCQ 7490.1v, fair via Alexandria SDR. Also confirmed UT Thu April 9 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, JBA in storm noise level from along the Ohio Valley; good via Alexandria VA SDR; and not via UTwente, now with this bad news in red: ``On April 8, the antenna seems to have developed a defect, so only very few signals are still detectable. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, university buildings are closed, so it is currently unclear if and when a repair can be attempted.`` WOR 2029 should be ready by early UT Fri April 10 and first American SWBC at 2200 on WRMI 9955 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5970, April 8 at 2327, S9+10 of dead air; must be WEWN on early from second Spanish transmitter not scheduled to start until 0000; first one is still on 12050, VP with music. BTW, HFCC shows they also employ two different antennas, a 206 and a 218 respectively at 5 degrees difference in azimuth, and both 500 kW transmitters run at only 100. I wonder if they are still operable if desired or affordable at 500? IIRC they used to be registered as 350 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 0315 UT April 9
