Glenn Hauser logs March 30-31, 2020
Tuesday, March 31 2020

Hauser
** ARGENTINA [non]. 9395, March 30 at 2130, WRMI, expecting to hear
Italian hour from RAE, but instead it`s in Brazuguese! talking about
this being a special program, due to COVID-19 quarantine; RAE relaying
Radio Nacional domestic; no new programs now via WSMI [sic!], but
replays of old shows, and these announcements in the 8 languages; see
website for news. 2139 a bit of tango and into same info in German.
Probably would have heard the other six during the whole hour.

Then I see a report from Ivo Ivanov that today at 1300-1330 on 15770,
RAE relay was in Spanish/Italian/French/Chinese.

7780, March 30 at 2352 I check the RAE `French` semihour via WRMI, and
hear English, music, 2353 into Chinese.

5800, March 31 at 0241, this WRMI is still on with music, RAE French
announcer from home with same info, part of 8-language rotation. 5010
is off and no //s on 5, 7 or 9 MHz bands. 5800 retuned at 0249, has
gone off in meantime at odd hour. (No full survey of WRMIs this
evening) (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 6125, 7355, 7435, March 31 at 0227, the incompetent
DentroCuban Jamming Command with wall-of-noise jamming on all three
against nothing, since in A-20, Radio Martí this hour is now on 5980,
7335 and 7365 all with NO jamming! Also 6030 with jamming as usual but
unusually atop it (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KURDISTAN [non]. 11530, March 30 at 2059 tune-in, good signal with
ME song but cut off at 2100*. It`s Denge Welat, best heard here in a
long time; must tune in earlier. Ivo Ivanov also reports today:

``BRB Denge Welat via Grigoriopol/Issoudun March 30
0600-1600 on 11530 KCH 300 kW / 130 deg to WeAs Kurdish, weak+TRT*
1600-2100 on 11530 ISS 250 kW / 090 deg to WeAs Kurdish, very good
* co-ch same 11530 EMR 500 kW / 105 deg to WeAs Turkish R. Erdogan!``
No TRT jamming heard before or after 2100 here (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 7475, March 31 at 0211, there he is, anti-Christ
pirate Station YHWH with usual screed, thin modulation, but mostly
readable S8-S9; weaker but still on past 0302. Walt Salmaniw was
hearing him better than ever in BC; while Richard Langley heard him
not at all in NB. This time I beat Rick Barton to YHWH; he in AZ tuned
in at 0315.

Walt continues: ``Unlike most other evenings heard, YHWH has remained
at good/very good level for the last hour I've monitored, with only
occasional fades. Continues at 0335 with, "Christianity, the greatest
hoax". An old program heard many times in the past. Josiah promises to
come back after this hour canned program. 7475 went off at 0402:47 UT
with his brief time check (9:04, but actually was only 9:02 PM Pacific
Time). Can anyone make out his last name? Josiah ??? He mentions it,
but with the tinny audio, it's difficult to hear. 73, Walt`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Correxion to one virtual channel cited, 52-1 MyNetwork,
not 51-2, fixed:

RF 23, March 30 circa 1525 UT, underpowered KSBI OKC is decoding thru
one of my antennas with a little tropo help, viz.: 52-1 KSBI-DT, 52-2
BOUNCE, 52-3 LAFF, 52-4 GRIT, 52-5 MYSTERY, each PSIP all-caps. This
matches rabbitears.info with 52-1 as MyNetwork, but not a.k.a.
nickname ``News 9 Plus`` --- that`s only on RF 25, KWTV 9-2. 52-1
takes CBS programming sometimes when bumped off KWTV 9-1, especially
tornado season and now CV to boot (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, March 30 at 2323, REE is VG S9+30/40 in Spanish; if
M/W/F English were to resume it would be at 2200. 9690 was reported
absent yesterday; anyhow it`s all RNE1 domestic relay now (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830, March 30 at 2200+, nothing from VOT English as A-20
scheduled to N America; just RTTY de NAU PR; nor at 2227. Something`s
always erroneous at Emirler.

7275, March 31 at 0256, carrier cuts on and off and on at least
thrice; 0259 IS & ID JBA in English, VP around S7 but no QRhaM as they
are perfectly entitled to impose. Don`t TRT know that in the Americas,
this is a hamband? Did no one at HFCC clue them in? Timesignal at 0300
is accurate with WWV, not late! Usual VOT sign-on to W N America with
schedule including 9785, 9830 for earlier airings, but can`t copy it
completely to detect any errors to be prolonged for the next 7 months.
// 6165 to Asia is a JBA carrier. An earlier tentative version of HFCC
A-20 had this on 9515 like last year, thus our expectation, rather
than down to 7275 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED [and non]. 9795, March 30 at 2158-2200+, no signal, nor
at 2227-2230+, unlike yesterday with something SE Asian(?). Sometime
after 2300 however, when my inkpen failed, 9795 does contain something
like that, presumed FEBC Philippines. Maybe they start an hour earlier
on Sundays (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 0442 UT March 31
