Hauser
SWL/DX/MEDIA PROGRAMS

Now fully updated for B-19 and non-DST seasons:
http://www.worldofradio.com/dxpgms.html

** ALBANIA [non]. 15770, Fri Nov 8 at 2030, WRMI with world music
fill, still no Radio Tirana relay; it`s Greekish, close enough?

9395, UT Sat Nov 9 at 0230, JBA music too, maybe Greekish and no RT. I
neglected to mention the expected frequency for this in last report
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA [and non]. 7335, 7355, 7365, 7375, 6125, Nov 9 at 0657, all
with varying degrees of jamming against nothing, as now Radio Martí is
only on 7435 way atop jamming, 6030 & 5980? under jamming. Something`s
always wrong at the DentroCuban Jamming Command, wasting its own
resources and causing untold harm to innocent bystations, who had
better avoid any frequency used anywhen by RM (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST) See also USA:WOR:WRMI

** CUBA. Correxion: I wrote that ``6165 continues`` while I meant to
say 6100 continues, after 6165 quits; fixed:

6165, Nov 8 at 0750 tune-in, just in time to hear modulation cut off
to dead air at S9+10; but 6100 continues S9+20/30 into `From the
Bookshelf`. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6165, 6100, 6000, Nov 9 at 0702, all three RHC English are
still on with good modulation, but unlikely all will last another full
hour. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15700, Nov 9 at 1603, S9+20 of dead air, no hurry to turn off
after 1400-1600 CRI English relay, yet unknown how well modulated
today. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15230, Nov 9 at 1605, RHC Spanish still on here, S9/+10,
unknown for how much longer but better than // 15140 only S9 and
undermodulated. Both 13s are off, but 11760 is also still on at S9+10.
Something`s always wrong? at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTTENING
DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 1090, Nov 9 at 0553 UT, I finally tune in before local
midnight, Spanish with KAAY from right angle easily nulled, making a
slow SAH of exactly 1.0 Hz, advice on how to accomplish e-commerce;
0556 into choral multi-verse NA; 0600 a quick ID which dammit I cannot
copy, but seems to mention FM, presumably linked to this XEAU
Monterrey; mentions milenio.com, and into infomercial for lentes de
leer (reading glasses). Now there is a UK TA het QRMing from 1089,
which I can`t null as long as I do null KAAY.

IRCA Mexican log says of XEAU: ``5000/500 watts, FM Tu 103.7 [Zona
Urbana], 1200-0600 REG ORO //XHFMTU 103.7FM. Moved to FM? (Web stream
ID is FM only, but AM is still included in 6/19 IFT list)`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6929-USB, Nov 8 at 2305, S6-S8, finally a pirate
heard after not any since Oct 22; just in time for the FRW deadline:
novelty tune, 2306 DJ announcement, hard to understand, drunk?
something about a ``continuing problem, RF in there``, apologizes for
poor quality. Lots of background noise while talking, but the music
was OK. 2312 fades down markedly to S3-S4, music JBA; still at 2329
recheck, music S5-S6.

These say it was Argyle Radio; all reports from the north/east, even
England, but I doubt this was out of Scotland:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,60026.0.html
(During this semihour one might instead have been listening to the
first airing of WORLD OF RADIO 2007 on WRMI 9955; started out heavily
jammed, but then it quit and WRMI faded up.)
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ROMANIA. 6170-6175-6180, Nov 9 at 0700, DRM noise, which at
0700-0730 only is RRI in German, 90 kW, 307 degrees from Ziganeschti;
coincidentally? 6175 is also in DRM later testing? from RFI FRANCE at
0900-1200 per HFCC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2007 monitoring: confirmed first
SWBC, Friday Nov 8 at 2300 on WRMI 9955; tune-in at 2258 to hear
wall-of-noise jamming over WRMI! The Cuban jammers have not observed
the EST switch of gusano programming like everything else on 9955 to
one real hour later. The main time they *need* to jam it is now
0015-0100 UT Tue-Sat against Noticiero and Radio Libertad! However,
S/N ratio soon improves as WRMI fades up a bit just as I am talking
about RHC -- tnx a lot! By 2312 recheck, WRMI is S9+20 and the jamming
is off, amazing, as if they realized their mistake. WOR remains VG
complete to 2329 and not cut off making my ``standard disclaimer``
twice redundant.

Also confirmed UT Saturday November 9 at 0140 the 0130 on WRMIs 5850
VG >> weak 5010, but JBA carrier here on 7780. At 0150 I check UTwente
SDR where 7780 is still arriving well!

As usual, I sleep/forget past 1330 for the secret new 1300 Saturday
WOR airing on WRMI 15770, which would probably be JBA here; hope
someone can reconfirm it.

Hamburger Lokalradio has been off due to serious illness of Michael
Kittner, but it could come back without notice, so need to keep
checking. Sat Nov 9 before 1600, UTwente is not getting it on
9485-CUSB, but usually did not get it anyway when really operational.
Can`t get a connexion to the OH5AE SDR. Next:

** U S A. (7490), UT Sat Nov 9 I don`t remember to check AAAWWW until
about 0153 UT on WBCQ webcast, now outgoing a real hour later by EST,
0100+ UT, when music is playing so I know immediately that A&A must be
away again. Yes, soon hear the tones of TimTron with his *very*
different style of programming; reminiscing about the good ole days,
and soon joined by Jason. They mention that one other frequency is on
now experimentally, 6160, reports wanted, and he will leave it on a
few minutes more, but only a few due to electrical expenses in Maine.
I quickly check it at 0202, but all I get is a JBA carrier on 6161,
suspect something else like a local birdie. Fortunately, John Carver
heard the whole thing this week:

``Tonight's AAWWW --- Program started on time this evening on 7490
although a very poor signal. I checked 7490 a couple of hours earlier
and it was a much better signal. TimTron is hosting. Goes into music
immediately as he says nothing is right in the studio and he has to
fix it. When the music ends Jason slips into the studio to cohost with
Tim. Tim announced that they were also on 6160 and I immediately tune
there. Much better signal. Then Tim talks about the work he did on the
6160 transmitter. Jason mentions that the 7490 transmitter had gone
down today for a bit so Tim talks about getting that back on the air
and how he hopes it keeps going till after he leaves for home.

He also mentioned that the superstation transmitter was down again and
that Allan had insisted on Tim going to the station to get it going.
Tim was upset as he wasn't finished winterizing his home and he wanted
to go back and work on it instead. Said that when he got home he'd
have to chip ice off of things to work on them. He also said it had
snowed today at the station.

More clips and music and then Tim talking about his introduction to
and experience with computers. He mentioned that the transmitter
problem with the superstation will require a man from the transmitter
company [Continental] and him to tear it all apart and he's upset
about that as it's still under warranty. He's waiting there for the
other guy to show up and says the guy should be there sometime this
next week. Some more bits and music from Michael Ketter. Program was
off the air at 0159. John Mid-North Indiana``

Note that Tim`s home is far away in Skowhegan, central Maine, 140 air
miles away, 183 driving miles from Monticello. He also mentioned that
he used to bunk-in Monticello for a week or more at a time. As for the
superstation, at end of WOR 2007 I cite the latest imaginary 24-hour
schedule for it, all on 9330 with times, languages, azimuths, targets,
powers -- some halved to only 250 kW (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** U S A. 6060, Nov 8 at 2303, WRMI with SMTV, and no RHC; will they
dare to turn 6060 back on as long as WRMI be there? Not checked later
until -0200 WRMI/RAE span (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5830, Nov 9 at 0453, WTWW-1 is on, S9+10/20 undermodulated
SFAW, weaker than neighbor 5935 WWCR PMS at +20/30. Dave Kenny points
out that the WTWW website now displays a much-abbreviated schedule: 8
pm-12 am Central on 5830 (= 0200-0600 UT), and only three hours a week
on 9475: Sunday 9 am-12 pm Central (=1500-1800 UT, i.e., church-goin`
hours; to be confirmed?) That would explain why we never hear 9475
anymore nor 5830 earlier or later (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** U S A. 7505, Nov 9 at 0459-0500+, WRNO active with gospel huxtress
in English, S9/+20, a bit past 0500 but probably about to cut off the
0200-0500 remaining broadcast with no more Chinese (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 17775, Sat Nov 9 at 1601, KVOH is S9+10/20, the SSOB by far
and would be the OSOB if not for 17830 JBA carrier from Ascension.
Suspect an HF sporadic E boost. Should have checked right away, but at
1830 the DXMap does show a lot of HF Es altho mostly over eastern USA.
1601:15 opening `Wavescan` edition #559 for Nov 10 but gets a
headstart on its sole KVOH airing. There are 28 more each week, mostly
on WRMI per new DX/SWL/Media Programs (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** U S A. 12160, Sat Nov 9 at 1609, WWCR with old lo-fi music ending
with a wow; could it be Talking Machine Show? That`s not until two
hours later. Not solid signal, not getting any sporadic E help over
this path. Soon gospel huxter starts talking off-mike and can`t copy
details, but he spends a lot of time listing numerous affiliates, such
as 1000 and 1240 in Kentucky, KXEL 1540, at one-hour times mostly on
Sundays, and finally WWCR at 10 am Saturdays on 12.160, and two other
times which strike me as incorrect. Own churches are in Philadelphia,
Washington DC and western Kentucky. Finally at 1614 mentions full name
of ministry, ``Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of Apostolic Faith,
Inc.`` matching that in WWCR schedule, and introducing another
speaker, some late bishop who starts off singing (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1210, Nov 9 at 0705 UT, ad for texting RANK to some number,
and another ad for something in northern Michigan, Petoskey. So it`s
certainly 50-kW ND daytimer cheating again, WJNL, Kingsley near
Traverse City. I`ve often checked for this but there has been too much
KGYN even nulled. Now I`m not even trying to do that, on the east-west
longwire which should favor KGYN. Its own adherence to legally nulling
toward Philadelphia at night is questionable, but maybe now they
really are (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

This report dispatched at 2050 UT November 9
