** BRAZIL. 11780, April 9 at 0150 tune-in via local ``Brasila`` SDR,
but only S8/9+5, RNB English already underway, still about Pará, Belém
tourism, open air market, museums, something this November.
Voice-under remains audible. 0154 outro English, switch to Spanish as
part 4 of this subject, interview with the Secretary of Culture. 0158
closing in Portuguese, and s/off RNA on 11780 & 6180, referring to web
and 980, as this stays on the air a bit more starting `Madrugada
Nacional` show, but promoting another show at 8 am.
``Glenn --- re Rádio Nacional's English/Spanish segment. Monday
(Tuesday UT) was not a repeat of the prior week. This was an interview
with a black actress and filmmaker from the state of Pará.
Unfortunately I could not make out her name. I find these segments to
be interesting and I hope they lead to more and longer form segments à
la RadioBrás. The only downside is the announcer's accent, a bit
challenging at times, but that is a minor concern.
My local recording {14 minutes} is at:

Tony Pavick, Hope BC Canada`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** KOREA SOUTH [non]. 11880, April 9 at 0127, NO signal from KBS World
Radio in Spanish, which moved to Woofferton after Greenville was
closed down. Not a matter of propagation from Europe, as Romania is OK
S7/S9 on 11620. Now what? O, 11880 is missing from EiBi by frequency;
but still in EiBi by time as via G-w = Great Britain Woofferton.
Missing from both versions of KBSWR`s own A25 schedule (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** MALI. 11975 // 13630, April 9 at 2205, French both S7/S9, CRI at
2130-2230 via Bamako aimed diversely: 20 degrees to CIRAF 37 = MW
corner of Africa; and 111 degrees to CIRAF 53 = Madagascar & mainland,
respectively per HFCC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. 6184.95, April 9 at 0650, XEPPM with S7 of dead air. Being
back on air hardly matters if it doesn`t modulate. This was often a
problem before the quadriweek hiatus. Perhaps no one minds the SW
store after midnight (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN [and non]. 17715, April 9 at 2115, this RNE is the OSOB
direct at S9+30/40 except for JBA carrier from NZ 17675. All 4 are on,
also: 15500 S9+20/30, 15520 S9+10/20, 15390 S6/9+10. About the same by
2200 token English, 2209 feature about a collexion of algo (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 11785.006-, April 9 at 2200, VOT not off the air,
timesignal 2 sex late compared to WWV, s/on English as if it`s 1230 on
17620, awry at Ankara, S7/S9 and noisy not really solid. At 2221 into
UTwente when measured, S9/+10, still unsolid. 2254 s/off, 2255 first
notes of IS only one sesquitime before chop, no finesse, uncovering
rapid clickery QRM of some sort. At least there`s no Chinese
understation like on 5960 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 379 MCW kHz, April 9 at 0614, ND beacon listed as RUE, in
Russellville AR, however for past sesquiyear has been sending only RU.
Now the second letter sounds more like an S than a U -- the final dah
is almost brief enough to be a dit! Progressive decline? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2289 monitoring: ``Richard Lemke,
St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, from the desk of Richard’s listening
Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF (30 years of service), Antenna: random
long wires in the trees. WRMI, USA, World of Radio #2289, 9395 kHz,
2330-2359, static, silent voice no program description, S6. start,
later heard voice, no clear ID, Glenn, voice, unsettled to stormy
conditions WOR #2289, broadcast needs to be switched 0230, 9395
kHz. April 8 UTC 2025 [Tue] (Lemke, Richard -AB)``
Confirmed Tuesday April 8 at 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9/+15 into Maryland
SDR.
Also confirmed Tuesday April 8 at 2338 the 2330 on SW Radio, Germany,
3975.003+, S7/9+5 into UTwente.
Also confirmed Wednesday April 9 at 1930 on SW Radio, Germany,
3975.002+, S9+10 into UTwente; and on 6165.001+, S9+10 into UTwente
but with RTTYditty circa 6164.
Also confirmed Wednesday April 9 at 2100 on WBCQ 7490 -77 Hz =
7489.923, S9/+10 into Maryland SDR. At 2114 direct, JBA S9+10 vs S9
noise level. Next:
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975.

** VANUATU. 9960, April 9 at 0652, RV reactivated here, island music
and nothing on 7260 which I check every night around this time.
Somewhat better signal now, S6/S7 direct and 9955 WRMITOMBS not a
problem. 9960 chops off abruptly during music at 0658:14*. I retune to
7260 but never shows there, so where? No signal on 5040. But there is
a JBA carrier on 3945 by 0700! I had not even been checking that on
the assumption it would not be audible direct so early. But Port Vila
sunset today is 0641 UT, so it is certainly possible. Earliest SS in a
bimonth will be 0619. Unfortunately, 3945 still failing to harmonicize
on 7890, 11835 or 15780. NSB/Nikkei, Japan on 3945 is no longer listed
in WRTH, EiBi nor Aoki, tho IIRC it came back on briefly for a special
event. Only Vanuatu listed on 3945. Of course there could also be
spoiler hAMs or even pirates (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
