Glenn Hauser logs November 17, 2024

** SPAIN. 12030, Nov 17 at 1942, this REE frequency for ME is OFF, no
signal into UTwente or Maryland SDR, as still is off 17755 for Africa.
Still on are 17715 for S America, 9690 VG for N America. Something`s
notright at Noblejas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 420 MCW kHz, Nov 17 at 0730 UT, FQ, 25-watt ND beacon at
Fairmont MN is JBA as are some of the other fringe regulars lower,
still fighting hi local noise level, so it seems I never hear a new
one. Distance is 533 miles, so 21.32 miles per watt, or 0.047 watt per
mile (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2269 monitoring: confirmed UT
Sunday November 17 at 0100 on WRMI 9955, S7/9+5 into Bonaire SDR.

Also confirmed UT Sunday November 17 from 0446 the 0415v on WA0RCR,
1860 AM, MO, VG into nearby SDR.

Not confirmed Sunday November 17 at 1145 when I happen to awaken, the
1130 on WRMI 9955: JBA signal direct, someone talking? Can`t be sure
it be I. Earlier I requested on the WOR iog:

``If already awake and not inconvenient, could someones check what`s
on WRMI Sunday at 1130 UT. Supposedly 9955 is on air at least on
weekends at this hour. If you don`t hear WOR direct or via remote,
what`s on the stream? Thanks, Glenn`` -- Replies:

Yogi Miaow: ``WOR 2269 was on 9955 at 1130 UT, so was their live audio
stream. (I heard it on a remote in Alberta .ca)``

``Hello Glenn, WOR edition No. 2269 is heard in Live streaming of WRMI
just now Sunday from 1130 UTC which was preceded by Wavescan at
1130 UTC. Jose Jacob, India``

``Nov 17 (Sunday) heard WOR via WRMI on 9955 kHz; tuned in from 1133+
UT; fair via Vermont remote SDR. {Also WRMI on 7730 at 0930 UT, with
"Wave Scan" with poor-fair reception via same remote.) Ron Howard, San
Francisco, CA``.

Nov 17 at 1935 checking prior to 2000 WOR on 1323 via AM Italia,
UTwente is again getting pulsing QRM from 1321.0, at the rate of 5 per
second. Not heard on other SDRs in Netherlands, Germany. Next:

2000 UT Sunday IRRS 1323-Italy;

** U S A. 5920, Nov 17 at 0603, WTWW-1 is off, probably much earlier,
unlike last night when was still on at 0933. Day frequency 9930 not on
by 1715, but is by next check 1800 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 790, Nov 17 at 0733 UT, two mentions of ``wsbw.com``
apparent station promo. In NRC AM Log, must have been WSGW, which is
U4 5/1 kW from Saginaw MI. Radio-locator shows day & night patterns
both have lobe to the southwest; but address in Tempe AZ, rather
inconvenient. Perhaps they found local address as in NRC AM Log too
daunting: 1795 Tittabawassee Rd, 48604-9431. ``Like many place names
in Michigan, the word Tittabawassee is of Native American origin. The
word roughly translates from the Chippewa or Ojibwa language to the
“river that follows the shore”. WSBW.com is World Space Business Week
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 4840, UT Sun Nov 17 at 0415, WWCR-4 like last week, unID
preacher with horribly off-key amateur hymnody, so the 4-year-old
Australian DX Reports with Bob Padula are still canceled. Dave Kenny
of BDXC-UK referred to them so politely as ``archives`` (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 1957 UT November 17
