** CUBA. 9790, Oct 10 at 0539, S9+28 of dead air in Cantonese, CRI
relay finishing by 0500 but failed to turn off. Something`s always
wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6000, Oct 10 at 0540 RHC S9+30/40 in English but suptorted
also whining. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. 720, Oct 10 at 0558, something in Spanish with WGN nulled
on the XHDATA D808; 0600 Mexican NA, brief choral version, and ID
mentioning ``La Lupe``: therefore per IRCA Mexican Log, it is XEDE
Saltillo, Coahuila. Power 8/0.25 kW so maybe on day power. Name
presumably alludes to ``The Virgen of Guadalupe``, Mexico`s very own
version of the BVM. She is always portrayed surrounded by ``rays``,
which could also correlate with broadcasting. I had no choice but to
spend my first nine years in the NM county of the same name (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. 17790, Oct 10 at 1537, something S4/S7 in Arabic.
All WRMI transmitters were off since yesterday with power failure so
I`m rechecking for them. This is Vatican as scheduled 1530-1600 only
to collide with WRMI ``Radio Africa Network`` toward S America when
funxioning. No signals on 15770 or 9395, but JBA carrier on 9455, as
WRMI tolerates sharing that with CRI. Then checking FB for further
updates, rather than WRMI`s own website:
``WRMI Radio Miami International --- Hurricane Milton Update as of
1540 UTC Thursday October 10: Power has just returned at our
transmitter site, but there is some damage in the antenna field. Our
engineers will be doing a survey of the antenna field this afternoon.
We may be able to have some transmissions back on the air tonight --
no promises yet.
Hurricane Milton Update as of 1540 UTC Thursday October 10: Power has
just returned at our transmitter site, but there is some damage in the
antenna field. Our engineers will be doing a survey of the antenna
field this afternoon. We may be able to have some transmissions back
on the air tonight -- no promises yet.
As of 2200 UTC Thursday Oct. 10, our frequency of 7730 kHz is back on
the air. We are still surveying damage to the antenna field and making
repairs, and we hope to have additional transmitters back on the air
either this evening or tomorrow. Stay tuned for updates.
As of 2210 UTC Thursday Oct. 10, our frequency of 5950 kHz is back on
the air. So now we have 7730 and 5950 on the air.
As of 2255 UTC Thursday Oct. 10, our frequencies of 5010 and 5800 kHz
are back on the air. So now we are on 5010, 5800, 5950 and 7730 kHz.
[WORLD OF RADIO 2264]
At around 0000 UTC Friday Oct. 11, our hard-working engineers got
7780, 9395, 9455 and 15770 kHz back on the air. It is now well after
dark here in Okeechobee, so we will try to get some additional
frequencies back on the air tomorrow`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
