WORLD OF RADIO PODCAST ON YOUTUBE, replacing Google Podcast
Thanks to Keith Weston for arranging this: ``Hi Glenn, It looks like
the new "podcast" feed via YouTube is now fully active and reliable.
https://www.youtube.com/@WorldofRadio
Official details of what this is and why it is happening at :
https://support.google.com/podcast-publishers/thread/264592324
Basically, the iTunes-like Google Podcast service will cease to
function on 2 April 24. Anyone who uses the Google Podcast app (or a
play their podcasts via Google Smart speaker) will need to start using
YouTube or YouTube Music apps paired with their devices. It's a real
pain and I hate this decision, but that's the Googleverse we live in
now. Setting the new stuff up for smart speakers is a little tricky,
but your followers are smart cookies and I wager they'll figure it
out.
Best, -- Keith Weston``

** CUBA. 15140, March 27 at 1535, RHC Spanish, S9+10 direct, ending
sports report at 1538, with squeal, perhaps related to spurblob? about
15143.6, and weaker at 2x above, 15147.2; but not clear matches on
minus side. // 11760 also on but weaker S5/S7. Something`s always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MALI. 5995, March 27 at 0645, noise blob again instead of regular
modulation from ORTM; back and forth from one night to the next. Or
could it be jamming? Following a military coup in 2020, elexions
scheduled for Feb `24 were postponed, per VOA news (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** SAUDI ARABIA. 11935, March 26 at 2335, horrible roar still on,
S7/S9 into Maryland SDR. March 27 at 1543, JBA direct. At 1613,
S9+10/22 into Kuwait SDR; at 1842, S9. 2220, S9 direct. UTwente
unreachable. 2238, S8/S9 into Kuwait. Still at 2345 into UTwente. As
for sites, Ed The Navydude in Riyadh says, ``Jeddah is not active.
Neither is Ha'il. Only Riyadh is active albeit barely. They're hoping
to get new transmitters if they end up continuing shortwave`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SPAIN. 9690, Wed Mar 27 at 2300, token English from SNR, VG
S9+40/45, today to be about Semana Santa activities, such as parades,
but lots of precip, some may be rained out. In recounting the
significance of the nigh dates about JC, which wander all over the
spring calendar, they never say ``allegedly`` - this is journalism?
2307 repeating the basic A24 SW sked, and yes, 17855 not 17885 for us.
Then quite a stretch explaining how one group which dresses in sheets
has nothing to do with the KKK, as American tourists are shocked. 2319
on to food. 2324 `Halleluyah Chorus`, 2327 report from Beirut about
some other easterish festival (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY [and non]. 5960, continued from last report, March 27 at
0000, into UTwente, VOT`s 2300 English has not gone off, still on with
timesignal and extraneous German, and continues for some time, unknown
exactly when turned off, but by 0030 nothing but Chinese from EAST
TURKISTAN (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY [non]. 5960, March at 2300, no show of VOT English into
Maryland SDR, nor 2345 later in the hour, but *2311 XJRTV EAST
TURKISTAN in Chinese. Not on 9610 either, rather CNR in Mongolian.
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U K Q O G B A N I. 24970 USB, March 27 at 1530, G0VQO is one of two
phone signals on 12m band. QRZ.com: ``G0VQO England flag England, Nick
Haynes, 139 Hull Road, Anlaby, Hull HU10 6ST, England -- I no longer
send QSL cards Sorry. Hi I have been licenced since 1995 and still
enjoy radio, my favourite bands are 12m and 20m, I am active on all
the bands`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 8992 USB, March 27 at 1546, occasional syllables between
long pauses, presumably a failed EAM from Andrews or somebase, not
modulating properly. I usually start my 9-MHz-bandscans here; or if
circa 2230 on 8989 for the pescador predicador circa Nicaragua
uncaught for longtime (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2235 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday
March 26 at 2335 the 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9+5/20 into Maryland SDR.
NOT confirmed March 27 at 1425 the 1400 on WRMI 9955, as it is OFF the
air; too late to check webcast. 9395 is audible poorly and maybe
9455.
Confirmed Wednesday March 27 at 2030 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975,
S9/+15 into western Ireland SDR as UTwente temporarily unavailable.
>From next week: 1930 on 6160 & 3975.
NOT confirmed March 27 at 2100 on WBCQ because 7490- is also OFF the
air, no signal into NH, ME, MD remotes. But confirmed on webcast. The
others are detectable: 5130+, 6160-, 9330.0. 7490 still AWOL past
2220, why? Next:
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
1730 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975

** U S A. 12160, March 27 at 1544, WWCR with chocolate commercial,
S9+35 with squeal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 13563+ CW, March 27 at 2213, dash and RQ sent thrice,
JBA but fades up a bit and certain of the call. Noise blanker on the
R75 essential as OG&E has not fixed the line noise yet. NOT listed at
the LWCA HIFER roster nor any reports in HFUnderground. New? Where?
Not PCO as expected around this frequency, recently relogged (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
