** CUBA. More and more traditional RHC frequencies are missing,
perhaps old transmitters crashing. But still plenty of
jamming-against-nothing: Nov 29 at 0740: 5800, 5980, 9565, 11860,
11930. All pulsing but no two sound exactly the same. And likely
against something, underneath 6030, 7355, 7435 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** SPAIN. 9690, Wed Nov 29 at 2300, token English from SNR is
sufficient into DX390 with clipon. Previews two features but I don`t
get the topix; after news about new government formation, 2308 report
about journalists killed in Lebanon. Still nothing heard warning that
the English broadcast Mon Dec 4 and everything else will be off the
air due to Noblejas power station outage (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TAIWAN. 9405, Wed Nov 29 at 1645, via TWR Delhi SDR, I`m monitoring
RTI English when `Status Update` is scheduled, i.e. mailbag show: and
there it is, extremely informal M&W chat with laughter about the
Thermos bottle company, and how to pronounce Ikea; 1652 finally a
letter from India, discussing their 2024 calendar. 1653 briefly SDR
gets overloaded with something`s music. 1658 sign-off mentions this
16-17 English to S Asia on 9405, but also 03-04 to SE Asia on 15320,
which we suspected was kaput, yet to be reconfirmed by axual
monitoring. 9405 makes it direct to N America but I don`t try it
today. The ChiCom ban RTI from HFCC; both Aoki & EiBi lack the 15320
English, rather 04-05 only, in Cantonese & Hakka, with only Cantonese
jammed, why not those lucky Hakkans? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY [and non]. 5960.005, Nov 29 at 2318, with BFO on the R75 I
can tell VOT is not off the air but totally unusable below
linenoiselevel of S9+20. No recheck until 2348 VG S9+45 into UTwente
during music. 2352 s/off with wrong English sked - times local called
UTC, but current B23 frequencies, usual clueless announcer. 2354 IS,
chopoff in about a semiminute before 2355 uncovering the CCCCCCI which
itself seems to have some weaker musical CCI but nothing else listed;
maybe just background from same East Turkistan transmitter, std
denunciation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2218 monitoring: confirmed UT
Wednesday November 29 at 0030 on WRMI 9395, S9/+25 into Maryland
SDR.
I happen to awaken at 1055 Wed Nov 29 so check 5035 USB for WOR 2217
on Unique Radio, Australia. As expected, no trace of a signal from
this low-power. Can someone hearing it directedly or remotedly
confirm?
NOT confirmed Wednesday November 29 at 2200 on WBCQ 7490, for the
second week in a row! JP finishes his show and then dead air into NH
SDR on 7490 -46 Hz = 7489.954, S9/+10 and seems back up to full
strength, FWIW. 5130+ is also DA, and so is the 7490-stream when I
give up at 2205 after notifying the boardops again. 2228 direct on
R75, 7490- still DA. Next check 2311, gospel huxtering has resumed.
Next:
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S
0230 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW
Thanks to Joe Caberlin, Port Colborne, Ontario for some US$ ,
preferably by MO or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702
Or via PayPal not necessarily in US funds to
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** VANUATU. 9960, Nov 29 at 0650, R. Vanuatu still here, S4/S5 of
talk, and nothing on 7260, back where Manuel Méndez, Spain, found it
24 hours before. He agrees on 9960 resumed tonight, until 0659*
presumably switching to 3945 and no harmonix. I`m not always tuning
before 0700 to reconfirm (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carriers: Nov 29 circa 0330, 711
kHz; again at 0647 when also detecting 774 & 855 likely Spain, maybe
819? 711 probably Western Sahara (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 26374.84 AM, Nov 29 at 2313, not in the CB, but sounds
like a horrible 27+ MHz pileup of hets, some on + side, mainly in
extremely colloquial Spanish also playing music (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
