** CANADA. Congrats to Canadian International DX Club on 60th
anniversary, supposed to be marked by two special event ham stations
July 17, 1800-2200 UT, VE2AQP circa 14240 USB and VE6SWL circa 14265
USB -- but not heard direct tuning around these circa 1920 UT; just
some US stations (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6060, July 17 at 0615, RHC is S9+10 with nothing but hum in
English; 6100 & 6165 are both sufficient S9+20/30. 5040 is off.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. Attn those expecting to find all my pirate logs
under this heading: see also OKLAHOMA in each report as the KOFM CB
pirate relay continues on 27185v (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 27184.47 AM, July 16 at 2321, KOFM presumed the usual
source of country music relayed by local CB pirate (Glenn Hauser,
Enid, WOR)
** ROMANIA. 11800, July 16 at 2326, interview in Spanish continues
past 2330. No match with RHC or Martí; what could it be? At 2335 //
9760, so the ubiquitous RRI as scheduled this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, July 17 at 0500-0506, UR1 via WRMI,

** U S A. 9330-, July 16 at 2332 WLCR on WBCQ back on air after a few
days` breakdown, S9+20/30 in English. Later I refine the measurement:
9329.928! and somewhat wavering, July 17 at 0618. This is NOT the
behaviour of the 500 kW SuperStition transmitter, rather one of the
old ``classic`` WBCQ transmitters, habitually off-frequency minus,
occasionally plus, but never exactly on-frequency.
Another measurement July 17 at 1437: 9329.856V, always in English when
I check, now only S9 direct. At 1447 via Maryland remote, S9+10 and
minus 143 Hz = 9329.857, calibration OK at WWV 10000.
Latest twit: ``Allan Weiner @AllanWBCQ · 37m [= 1449 UT minus 37 =
1412 UT July 17] Working on the transmitters. 9330 kHz back on the
air. The worlds free speech station is WBCQ. Always. Tune in tonight
on 6160khz for Area61 programming. Then Radio Angela on 5130khz at
10pm eastern. Shortwaves Rules✌️. We do it with real transmitters,
real RF, in real time. Really``
AW never volunteers pertinent info such as substituting one
transmitter for another. Since the WLCR antenna and the classic
245-degree antennas and transmitters are at separate locations, it
might have been difficult or impossible to intermix them. WLCR
language and azimuth usage has been quite flexible but per FCC A22,
9330 would be 250 kW, 180 degrees at 06-08; 250 kW, 290 degrees at
13-15 UT. If both transmitter and SS antenna are out of service,
everything is probably no more than 50 kW on WSW beam (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. 1090, July 17 at 0705 UT, HUD and another USG PSA,
then into praise music. Bigsig loops E/W or slightly clockwise, i.e.
KAAY Little Rock. This is NOT its new night power of 80 watts! Sounds
like 50 kW, and can`t be former tight night pattern either,
unfavorable thisaway, but non-direxional 50 kW day pattern. FCC AMQ
still shows 80 watts as a CP to go with ND 50 kW day. KAAY was no
longer able to operate direxionally day or night, thus the drastic
power reduxion at night; but not yet? It was granted May 6. Should not
be that hard to set up an 80-watt transmitter. Nulling it, I hear
Spanish, presumably still XEAU Monterrey (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 1120 kHz, July 17 at 0632 UT, KMOX oldtimeradio drama
has heavy QRM from music in Spanish. Normally KMOX is one of the
clearest of clear channels here. I count a SAH of about 8 Hz.
Unreadable announcement/ID? at 0702, otherwise upbeat romantic song
segués till I quit at 0723. Best audible on DX-398 with KMOX nulled,
i.e. NW/SE but hard to get a fix on the QRM. Mexican? At the time I do
not think of the Tulsa market KETU Catoosa, 10 kW DAYTIMER, also 7 kW
critical hours with two different direxional patterns. It`s certainly
a problem for KMOX during CH near sunset; will have to check whether 8
Hz apart then. MWoffset shows 7 Hz apart!:
http://mwlist.org/mwoffset.php?khz=1120
1120 1119.9932 KETU (Catoosa, OK) as of 2019-01-03
1120 1120.0002 KMOX (Saint Louis, MO) [-1120.0027 range] as of
2021-11-14 IBOC within 0.1 Hz [no more IBOC]
NRC AM Log says ``Diferente`` is part of slogan, and post facto think
I may have heard it say that. It was pretty steady, like area
groundwave as heard by itself daytimes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
