** BRAZIL. 9673.4/9673.5, jumpy transmitter, July 10 at 0635, RVM ID
in Portuguese, and then in *Spanish* with Brazuguese accent, including
contact address in Camboriú. They also run IDs in English but none
caught lately (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6165, July 10 at 0009, RHC with a malady I`ve never heard
before. Sounds like someone whispering but with volume turned way up,
unreadable distortion. Some dead air and 0010 resumes; much weaker
6000 seems // as it should be for English now. But 0018 recheck, 6165
is clear with normal mod but in Spanish; 0019 English. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 6000, 6060, 6100, 6165, July 10 at 0627, all four English
RHCs are off already, unusual; nor on 11670. 5040 is still on but in
Spanish. I suppose that led to no Esperanto at 0700 Sunday,
unrechecked then. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** CUBA. 13630 & 13772 approx., July 10 at 1440, spurblobs with F#
tone and minimal musical modulation more audible in AM mode than FM;
out of RHC 13700. Also weaker second-orders circa 13840 & 13560.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** EGYPT. 9439.995, July 9 at 2210, R. Cairo is very much on today,
for English to the NW, S9+25/35 into UTwente, but extremely distorted
and totally unlistenable. As ever. But almost on-frequency; that`s
something?
9899.965, July 9 at 2212, UTwente also gets an S9+25/35 signal here,
presumably the other R. Cairo Abis, and it`s clean. Trouble is, just
barely modulated. Somethings` always egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 27184.46 AM, July 10 at 1437, country music no doubt from
KOFM 103.1 Enid as relayed by local CB pirate (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9830.021, July 9 at 2213, VOT English is certainly on
today, and typically plus 21 Hz into UTwente at S9+35/45; but heavy
humwhine making it very annoying to listen to altho mostly readable,
announcers` accents permitting, if one put up with it. Something`s
always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 28204 CW, July 10 at 1434, W0WF repeating ID over and over,
the OSOB but good sporadic E signal under 500 miles per WJ50 roster:
28.204 WØWF * SAINT CHARLES, MISSOURI # 20W, VERTICAL (*) Daylight New
16 June 14 --- MUF not quite reaching FM band so I check 10m beacon
band (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2146 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
July 9 ending at 2001.4 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, Missouri, S9+10 into
nearby SDR so must have started about 1932.
Just missed checking 0030 UT Sunday July 10 on WRMI 7780; anyone hear
it?
Confirmed UT Sunday July 10 not starting until 0410 the 0315v on
WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S9+10/15 but with SSB QRM as there must be some
contest on 160m causing a lot more activity on the `top` band.
Also confirmed Sunday July 10 at 1350 until 1359 on WMRI Europe via
Channel 292, Germany, 9670, S7/S9 into NW Ireland SDR, so started
right on time at 1330. Immediately into Russian, or Ukrainian? Next:

Sending cash/banknotes in the mail is discouraged; besides risk of
loss, foreign currency is troublesome and expensive to exchange here
in deep North America. One may contribute via PayPal, not necessarily

** U S A. 5850, UT Sunday July 10 from 0100, `Encore` classical music
from R. Tumbril, Scotland, via WRMI, listening directly --- until 0132
when suddenly interrupted for partial WRMI ID, and rock music fill for
the rest of the hour! Ditto on // 7730 courtesy System F. So I have no
choice but to hear instead Texas Radio Shortwave unimpeded on another
WRMI, 5950. Try again for the complete Encore from 0232 UT Monday on
5950 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. UT Sunday July 10 both at 0200 on WCLV webcast and affiliate
KUCO at 0300, `Weekend Radio` comedy show repeated last week`s
4th-of-July edition. It appears WCLV and/or Sagebrush Bob are having a
hard time keeping up with things (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 6033.74, July 10 at 0629, JBA carrier, maybe trace of
modulation. Unseems local birdie as still there with preamps off
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 6070-6090, July 10 at 0626, no wideband DRM? like July 8
at exactly same time, so weak VOA 6080 is unimpeded. What was that?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
