GLENN HAUSER`S EQUIPMENT. Some editors keep reproducing out-of-date
list. Notably, FRG-7, out of service for many years. I still have two
of them, neither funxional, on the table next to my primary Icom R75.
Other primary is JRC NRD-545. I have several portables but the only
ones in regular use as backup or mobile are Tecsun PL-880 and Radio
Shack DX-398. Antennas, besides telescopic are indoor random wire
clipons, Wellbrook ALA 330S loop indoor permanently aimed E/W for the
JRC; and 100 foot E/W longwire for the Icom. And BSR-1 caradio, with
fender antenna of about one foot which still gets amazingly a lot.

there ought to be more Eurohams on 18 MHz. But no other phone QSOs
heard at all on band. QRZ.com:

Welcome, NS9RC is the club call of the North Shore Radio Club near
Chicago. Our club's web site is: ns9rc.org
To help discover 10M band openings, the NSRC has operated a
propagation beacon on 28.297 MHz since 2001. It is located at the
Heller Nature Center in Highland Park, IL about 27 miles north of
downtown Chicago. The beacon was built from a Radio Shack HTX-100
running 5 watts to a Cushcraft AR-10 half wave vertical. CW message
keying is performed by an Ultimate PicoKeyer. The 10M band is open a
lot more than you may think, even during periods of low sunspot
activity, so be sure to check the beacon portion of the band between
28.200 and 28.300 regularly, you may be pleasantly surprised with what
you hear. Reception reports on our beacon are always welcome and over
the years we have received them from over 30 countries and every
continent except Antarctica. We will gladly send a QSL card if
requested, please send your report to KK9H.

Regardless of where We are in the sunspot cycle....... I'm 99% a 10
Meter Operator. The WJ5O propagation beacon can be heard on 28.289.3
MHz and has been in operation since June 1992 running two Watts into a
roof mounted Vertical.
This and some of the others are also familiar from last year(s). At
2337 local noise level bumps up so a good time to quit. About midway
thru the session there was a phone QSO already on 28310 USB. And
nothing else higher. WJ5O list shows a few foreign beacons up to
28322.6 but the top USA one is 28304.6 in OR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
