National Broadcasting Day: All India Radio came a long way since 1927

Today is 'National Broadcasting Day' which marks the first-ever radio 
broadcast in the country on this day in 1927 by Indian Broadcasting 
Company from Bombay Station. On June 8, 1936, its name was changed to 
All India Radio. AIR is one of the largest broadcasters in the world.
