** ANTARCTICA. 15475.97-RCUSB, April 21 at 1430, LRA36 confirmed on
this Wednesday in quick check via Brasil SDR with good signal, but I
don`t have time to keep listening. Likely to repeat on Saturday.
I should apply for a new eQSL as have been going out for previous
emissions, e.g. to Manuel Méndez: ``In the email they added the names
of the LRA 36 team for the 2021 year:
"BUENOS DIAS NOS COMPLACE SU ESCUCHA SALUDOS
EQUIPO DE ESTA DOTACION:
OPERACION TECNICA: SARGENTO ALEJANDRO CAMINO
LOCUTORA: TENIENTE PRIMERO ESTEFANIA PEREZ
LOCUTOR: CAPITAN MAXIMILIANO LUNA
DIRECTOR DE LA RADIO: TENIENTE CORONEL DARIO LUCERO
ESTAMOS AL AIRE LOS MISMOS DIA Y HORARIO DEL AÑO PSADO DESDE YA MUCHAS
GRACIAS."

Note they all hold military ranx. QSL says 300 watts to a rhombic
antenna. WRTH 2021 page 463 says, ``1 x 1 kW, 1 x 10 kW. The 10 kW
(when in use) is operated at around 1.2-1.5 kW`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** CUBA. 1040, April 21 at 0613, Cuban-style discussion mentioning
Guantánamo, with WHO nulled, so assumed is the only CM on 1040: CMCL,
10 kW, Radio Mayabeque, Güines, Mayabeque. Mayabeque is a rather
obscure province just east and south of Habana between it and Matanzas
[killings]; in fact it did not exist until 2011:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayabeque_Province
but that does not explain, why? Güines is just east of the major SW
site Quivicán; and Bejucal is north of there on the Habana province
boundary (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. 720, April 21 at 0602, Cuban-style music with WGN nulled,
but then Meximusic and full legal ID for XEDE, or rather XHDE 105.7 y
720, Kaliente, KFM, 25 kW en Saltillo, Coahuila; makes 5.6 Hz SAH with
WGN except when they be exactly mutually nulled. XE NA would have
erupted an hour earlier in the CDT zone, UT -5 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** SPAIN. 17855 & 15520, April 21 at 2224, zero signals from REE token
English on Wednesday; algo JBA on 11940, JBA carrier on 11685, no
RTTY. Conflicting reports earlier whether 17855 for N America was on
the air during silly ballgame, but Wolfgang Bueschel says it was
making it to Bonaire (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9840, April 21 at 1815, JBA music, attrax my attention as
was a frequency of WHRI, believed to be defunct. But scheduled
1730-1830 is VOT in German --- its real hour rather than more often
heard 9830 overrun after 2300; 5960 after 0000 in B-seasons.
9830, Apr 21 at 2223, trace of TRT at S7 = noise level, no RTTY (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2082 monitoring: unchecked here Wed Apr 21 at
1030 on WRMI 5850; anyone hear it?
Confirmed Wed Apr 21 at 2100 on WRMI 7780, noisy S7-S8 to VA SDR; not
to UTwente but intermittent strong chirpbursts. Also confirmed 21
seconds behind on WBCQ 7490-, S5-S7 to KB0FX with offset -33 Hz, while
to Alexandria VA it`s -45 Hz - so there we have a margin of error via
two different Kiwis. later at KB0FX it`s -25 Hz.
Also confirmed Wed Apr 21 at 2200 on WRMI 9955, by 2220 check direct
is S9+20 with no jamming audible. Next:
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S

** U S A. 920, April 21 at 0610 UT, George Noury giving personalized
ID for KVEL 104.5 & 920, as C2CAM then resumes with a silly
numerologist. KVEL is in Vernal, NE UT, U2 5/1 kW, but night pattern
is to the NE, ~nil thisaway*. It`s as strong as dominator KYFR
Shenandoah in SW IA, mutually nullable, NW vs NE. KYFR does have a
tight nightlobe aimed thisaway*.
Therefore suspect KVEL be on ND day pattern if not also day power.
I`ve heard it before with same suspicions, but not lately. 104.5 is,
you guessed it? A mere translator, K283BN. Note to E2L editors:
``thisaway`` is slang, not separable into this and away. Likewise its
antonym, thataway (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1329+, April 21 circa 0600 UT, nothing of the unID het noted
24h ago; but the two major off-frequencies are still audible, 1319.7
from North Carolina, and stronger 1540.2 from Georgia. These stick out
during a full MW bandscan (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
