Unfortunately, when transmitters get too old, they can get to a point of
being almost impossible to maintain. Wiring gets dry and brittle, plus
parts and tubes get impossibly hard to find.On Apr 12, 2021 10:25 PM, Ken Zichi <radioguy73@gmail.com> wrote:
And today at 0200 they are back to 6000 kHz so apparently yesterday was
a whoops. Too bad ....
This hour only 6165 and 6000 are heard in English 5040 and 6060 are in
Spanish well, 9535 has SOMEthing -- a moderate carrier and just barely
audible modulation that is probably them. 9580 has a very strong carrier
just barely modulated with what I want to say sounds like Mandarin but I
wouldn't swear to that. Nothing on 9700 as expected.I'm STILL not exactly sure why they need so many channels in 49 metres
but better than abandoning SW as so many others have I guess. Now to just
get them to maintain the transmitters a little better! ....
