** ALGERIA [non]. 7375, Jan 5 at 1800, RRI in Romanian is the only
signal audible via UTwente, despite TDA also scheduled via Issoudun,
France. So is TDA really somewhere else for the first hour?

7315, Jan 5 from *1900, TDA opening abruptly via FRANCE, in French,
shortly Arabic. Meanwhile 7375 is still RRI only. The 19-20 UT hour
might be when Spanish and English segments from the International
program might appear during winter as it was 18-19 during summer, but
I don`t have a chance to monitor the whole hour.

At HFCC, if you go to TDA here:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbyfmo.php?seas=B20&fmor=TDA
you get only the imaginary schedules from still under construxion(?)
Bechar and Ourgla sites inside Algeria; while if you go here:
http://www.hfcc.org/data/schedbybrc.php?seas=B20&broadc=TDA
there is a mixture of the imaginary and real(?) transmissions via
Issoudun (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 6970, Jan 4 at 2352, Chinese S6-S9 fluttery, certainly not a
pirate but another CNR1 jammer (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6100 & 6145, Jan 5 at 0724, open carrier dead air from both
RHC English channels, S9+10/20 and S9+20/30 respectively; the latter
meaning that 6145 again replaced 9700 all evening. Something`s always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15700, Jan 5 at 1518, S9/+10 of totally dead air instead of
CRI English relay; something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 960, Jan 5 at 0657 UT, KGWA Enid again in dead
air 24 hours later; 0659 Rush ad and full ID for 100.9 & 960 --- which
I find on one of my analog AM/FM radios line up at the same slide-rule
dial position, what a coincidence, as I confirm both are in dead air
during most of the first two minutes of Fox slanted ``news`` on the
hour. 0708 local? announcement and more dead air continuously past
0722 and 0746 final check.

960 nulled at 0711, I hear echoey sports talk, likely KGKL San Angelo
TX as IDed last night, and another ESPN affiliate, of which there are
at least 4 on 960; most likely WSBT South Bend IN, U4 5/5 kW (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. ``Enid 32 K19IR Returned to the air under STA for this
channel, 100w/53m.

Oklahoma City 21 KTBO-TV Requests STA 15kw/211m, 35-22-10/97-27-40; to
temporarily share on KUOT-CD pending replacement of tower destroyed by
ice storm.

Tulsa 14 KTUL From 10, 1000kw/578m``
(from Doug Smith`s FCC News column in January WTFDA VHF-UHF Digest)

Hi Doug, Allegedly! I do not now see, nor have I ever seen any signal
from K19IR ``Enid` on RF 32 (or 19). From FCC TV Query there have
apparently been two different sites near Enid, not Tulsa or OKC like
some of the other pretenders.

Tropo is up from KUOT RF 21, OKC, and indeed I see TBN main channel on
21-2, while 1, 3, 4 and 5 appear to continue various 3ABN channels.
21-2 is still PSIP labeled nothing but KUOT like all the others. There
is a transparent TBN bug in upper right.

RF 15 has something on it but no decode, as I guess KTBO is completely
off otherwise from OKC. I am comparing 21-2 to Suddenlink cable 3; no
idea what goes with the other TBN subchannels.

Were there any other FM or TV signals on the destroyed KTBO tower?

Interesting to see that KTUL is giving up on VHF! Despite repacking
making UHF more and more crowded. Have not seen it yet.

Terrible about the Nashville bombing. I hope you were not affected in
any way, but how about your employer? 73, Glenn, Enid [to Doug]

``Educated guess is that K19IR's period back on the air didn't last
long (possibly only an hour or two). It went dark on Jan. 15th, 2020,
citing the need to acquire & install equipment to accommodate the
repack (bumped from ch. 19 by KAUT OKC).

The STA to return on ch. 32 says "The Applicant has a smaller
transmitter, than is required for the CP, and the antenna panels on
hand to build a smaller version of the station effective immediately."
This STA was filed on Nov. 2nd, at which time K19IR had ten weeks to
return to the air or lose its license under the "off over a year" law.
The STA text is "boilerplate" -- Edge Spectrum filed numerous STAs
around the country using identical text.

================================

No, there are no other broadcast signals listed on the KTBO tower.

Interesting that they're still coming up as 21.2 instead of 14.1. I'm
not thinking FCC permission would have been needed to do that -- KUOT
is welcome to change the programming on 21.2 at any time, including to
carry TBN as long as they have TBN's permission to do so. A sharing
agreement would have been necessary either if KUOT wasn't willing to
take responsibility for TBN's compliance with non-technical
regulations, or if TBN didn't expect to get KTBO back on its own
signal within a year (but KTBO went off on Oct. 27th so they've got
plenty of time to get back on.)

================================

[non] No physical effects here from the bombing, it was seven miles
from home & four from work & only affected a limited area.

But while nobody was seriously injured (except the bomber), the
economic injuries are pretty serious. My understanding is 1200 people
are now out of work, and it is quite possible several hospitality
businesses which survived the pandemic won't survive this. Hundreds of
people lived in apartments above the damaged buildings & have lost
their homes -- some will likely not be allowed back in to retrieve
their possessions.

The AT&T outage was pretty problematical though. Took out all AT&T
cellphones in the area, and shut down a number of private data
circuits. It also shut down AT&T Internet service for millions, and
the local stations disappeared from Dish Network (which is NOT the
AT&T-owned service) for a while (I'm sure Dish uses a private AT&T
circuit to get the local stations from Nashville to their uplink
site.)

Many people were confused by the fact AT&T internet was still up for
five hours after the bombing. My understanding is the backup
generators were fueled by natural gas & the gas pipes were damaged --
they had to shut down the generators to make sure they didn't cause a
second, unintentional, explosion`` (Doug Smith to gh)

KTOU-LD, RF 22, OKC also decoded this evening [circa 0445 UT Jan 5]:
22-1 HSN1
22-2 SBN
22-3 HSN2
22-4 KTOU on PSIP but full color bars only, silence
[not The Country Network as in rabbitears.info]
22-5 Shop
22-6 Shop = identical to 22-5
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (101.1), UT Tue Jan 5 from 0400, KSFR Santa Fe NM webcast
with `The Global Village`, replacement for `Beyond Borders` which has
already moved to Thursdays 1600-1900 UT. B.B. was truly ``world``
music, beyond domestic/western, while the new show mixes in the
latter, so not so interesting. T.G.V. host acts as if it has been on
before, but no such title anywhen on the KSFR sked, which still shows
B.B. at its old time. Perhaps T.G.V. be not local origination:
Publicradiofan.com shows two shows of that name from KMUW and WCBE.
The KMUW Wichita one is/was also on 8 other stations. BTW, filed under
G, not T, tho PRF does list many other shows named ``The ---`` under
T.

Yes, that`s it, the one originating with KMUW Wichita:
https://www.kmuw.org/programs/global-village
I recognize the host name, Chris Heim, which I did not know how to
spell; it`s a 1-hour strip M-F at 7 pm CST [01 UT Tue-Sat], which
explains why I was hearing someone else on KSFR after 05 UT. We used
to be able to hear KMUW 89.1 direct in Enid until a gospel huxter
translator usurped the frequency, bane of the non-commercial band.

On KSFR there was soon a break for a promo by Susan Ohori about the
new time for her B.B. Like Susan, Chris does not want her image to be
seen in the staff profiles, but is referred to as a ``she``:
