yes, my proposal - do exact mesuring next monitoring time.

Like R Ona for example from the Netherlands,
heard here lately Aug 30 on exact
5939.994 kHz
in Liverpool in peaks S=4-5 or -93dBm signal strength.

"Radio Deegaanka Soomaalida Itoobiya",
as the official station of the Ethiopian Somali Regional State.

One of the Made in China BBEF Beijing delivered TX units
to Ethiopian Telecommunication Government,
launched late on June 27, 2017.

seemingly this is an industrial ruin?

Last appearance of DX press read in March and in May 2018.

Always measured by Y.T. on even 5940.000 kHz exact fq.

5940 ETHIOPIA. R. Deegaanka Soomaalida - Jijiga. This relatively new
station is still operating here for A-18 in Somali, noted at 1935 UT
with talks and instrumental music, a signal on March 28, 2018.
Cheers all, Rob Wagner VK3BVW

ETHIOPIA 5940 kHz, R. Deegaanka Soomaalida, Jigjiga. Commentary in
Somali at 1843 UT, into a long and lively East African song at 1845 UT.
ID at 1852 UT. A good signal with plenty of carrier but the audio level
appeared to be down a fair way, 16 May 2018.

Also BBEF Made in China txs delivered to Gedja site in June - Dec 2016,
like different language services, in Amharic, Oromo, or Tigre,
on various 5950, 6030, 6090, 6110 kHz, nearly even in fq then,
when the local power grid is kept at the exact voltage.

After the new peace agreement launched between Ethiopia and Eritrea,
the Clandestine radio service disappeared immediately.
Last entry of an much OLDER TX UNIT - imprecise in frequency outlet,
seen in archive:

ETHIOPIA 7235.361 kHz Surprisingly excellent signal from Gedja
Ethiopia into FL-US state, V of Democratic Tigre scheduled, S=8 at
0430 UT on May 11. But wandered 10 - 20 Hertz fq distance up-wards
continously, each 5 minutes.

[selected SDR options, span 12.5 kHz RBW 15.3 Hertz]

3920 Piepe-zender Netherlands Pirate hobby radio empty at 09.00 UT.

5940 R Onda ? Station
mini signal exact 5939.994 kHz <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
from Holland / Netherlands origin ?
in Liverpool in peaks S=4-5 or -93dBm signal strength.

But a 'real Sender',
tentatively on MBR Nauen Germany bcast center,
likely 125 kW at approx. 270 degr azimuth out, on
6095even kHz, noted older Radio Caroline ? 558 kHz annmt repeat,
presenter in Dutch language on air,
S=9+30 -46dBm much propperly at Liverpool England SDR installation,
that's on the real target, is also the real audience area ?

Thank you both for the clarification. I apologise, the recording is very
poor from my smartphone next to the speaker. In the headphones the signal
was a bit clearer and it did not seem like Portugese to me at the time, it
seemed like more like an African accent. Between that and relative power
between the the transmitters (as denoted in Aoki) I assumed that a 100kW
Ethiopian had a better chance than a 1kW Nederland to arrive at my location
at that hour.

I do see now that RVM has a 10kW transmitter (and all three are
omnidirectional according to Aoki) so Glenn may very well be correct here,
as well.

I will just declare it UNID until I hear it again (and hopefully get a
better recording!) Thanks again!
