Re: [Swprograms] Bush House: BBC World Service moves home

Many thanks for this!

Two random thoughts prompted from this morning?s broadcasts

1.       I wish they had used  Lilliburlero one last time from Bush House for this broadcast.

2.       As I was fighting to listen to this using the TuneIn radio app on my iPad, I couldn?t help thinking to myself that my silent short wave radio would have provided more reliable service than the internet!

Thanks again for sharing this recording.  It?s one to keep!

Sandy

Well I TRIED to listen to the last news broadcast of the news, but my Tunein Radio app stuttered twice so I didn't get a clean recording.  If anyone got a clean recording I'd love a copy.

The BBC World Service has been synonymous with Bush House for 70 years, but on 12 July the news is broadcast from the building for the last time. Here Bogdan Frymorgen and Emma Crowe bid farewell in sound and pictures. Below, Anna Horsbrugh-Porter talks to a producer who first heard the BBC in a Soviet labour camp, and recalls letters from African listeners addressed to The Queen, c/o Bush House.
