[Swprograms] Somewhat OT: House Judiciary Committee Approves Radio Performance Fee

This is of interest primarily to those who follow Internet radio, but
it's of interest to those with interest in domestic MW/FM radio as
well.

Webcasters have long claimed the playing field in rights fees was
unfair -- they had to pay copyright fees for the music they air,
whereas regular ol' radio stations do not. The logic had been that
radio stations were good for artists because they exposed artists'
works to prospective buyers, and, thus, radio stations were exempt
from these fees.

If the bill cited below becomes law, then radio stations will be on
the hook for these fees as well. Given the current decrepit financial
state of most radio stations, this might push some station owners even
more towards bankruptcy.
