WORLD OF RADIO 1448 SUMMARY:
*BBCWS outsourcing programming to New Delhi, to save money

*DTV transition makes that available in Oklahoma; `nightlight` service

see DX Listening Digest 9-015

including coastal or experimental predecessor

oldies; stunting?
*WWRB has started streaming programming on one of its frequencies
*VOA starts Burmese TV service, via satellite
*Talk of quid-pro-quo with Azerbaijan allowing VOA back on FM there,
in exchange for relays of Azeri broadcasts by US
*Radio Nacional Amazônia, Brasil, 11780 puts big spurs on 11730, 11830; plans to buy new transmitters
*Former head of Radio Canada International, Betty Zimmerman has died

English broadcasts missing

*Iran relays via Lithuania resumed February 12
*Plans for revival of Happy Station, from March 11 on WRMI, 9955
*Nicaragua replaced 4-letter broadcast callsigns with 6 characters,
usually including one number

*Al-Aqsa and Al-Quds TV relays on SW have stopped; were active while
Lithuanian relays of Iran were off, but probably coincidental
*Recommending Estelle Winters`s programs on Voice of Russia
