*Romania starts using new 300 kW transmitters at Galbeni; reception 
 greatly improves
*Hungary`s remaining SW schedule as changed August 1, for MR, 
 including 5940 ex-5965 for NAm at 0100-0200, and for IBB relays
*Results of DRM tests in India on 3 and 26 MHz bands
*AIR Shillong, 4970, good for local announcements in English
*BBS Bhutan, 6035, heard until 1500 in California
*When Myanmar is on 5985.78v it`s probably the old transmitter in 
 Yangon; when on 5985.00 the new one at Nay Pyi Taw
*Bangkok Meteorological Radio background and schedule
*8794 USB, Changjiang Maritime Security Information Center, traffic 
 info for Yangtze River
*Sichuan PBS, China, which added 9740 after the earthquake, still 
 using it 24 hours, interfering with BBC, but no longer HCJB
*Firedrake monitoring, especially far out of band, 8020, 9180, 14420, 
 17200
*Mediacorop closed down all its Singapore SW, not just RSI, but some 
 programs still on demand if you know where to find them. Frequencies 
 opened up, including 6120 no longer clashing with Japan via Canada at 
 1200; 6150 uncovers China and Taiwan
*V. of Indonesia replaces 9526 with 11784.9 including English at 1300, 
 but clashes with two or three 11785.0 stations; nevertheless, on top 
 at times

 webcast via http://www.johnlightning.com:8024
*KFI, 640, putting up new tower again in La Mirada, California; photos

*KSFV-LP, licensed as a low power TV on channel 6 in San Fernando 
 Valley, funxions as a radio station on 87.7, Guadalupe Radio, mostly 
 in Spanish, and in FM stereo, DXed by gh in Oklahoma, power well 
 under 1 kW
*Senate passes bill by Sen. Hutchison, R-TX, to keep analog TV four 
 more years in Mexican border markets; could really mess up the 
 transition
*R. Apintie, Suriname, 4990 reported at 0931-0945, 2225-2237
*HCJB`s morning service in lo and hi German to Europe, 0630-0730 
 direct on 9740, vanished August 1; still has evening service via 
 France, DRM direct too; and to Mexico
*R. Nacional Amazônia, Brasília, 6180 reported shifting to 6185, 
 avoiding CubaRM? But bad news for Mexico City
*R. Cidade reported in Brasil on 3140; would be second harmonic from 
 Minas Gerais
*Morocco was missing from 15340 and 15345, but has returned with 
 improved modulation
*Borno State, Nigeria plans to resume SW; 37 years ago was on 4900, 
 6100
*Africa Number One, Gabon, irregular on 15475, 17630, maybe due to 
 staff strike, but back on
