See the quote below. The quote from Rep. Conyers suggests that
Congress will look at the competitor set as "digital music
distribution", which would likely increase the chances of the merger
being allowed...
"The newly-created House Antitrust Task Force is to hold a public
hearing next week examining the potential merger between Sirius
Satellite Radio Inc. and XM Satellite Radio Inc.
"The hearing will hear evidence from Sirius Chief Executive Mel
Karmazin and other yet-to-be-determined witnesses.
""We are holding this hearing to allow members to probe whether this
merger will enhance or diminish competition in the digital-music
distribution industry," said Rep. John Conyers (D., Mich.), chairman
of the task force and the over-arching House Judiciary Committee.
