This Saturday September 17th of 2005, ?Hellenes Around the World?, host Dr.
Byron Massialas, a distinguished academician, currently associated with Lynn
University after having served on the faculties of the University of Chicago,
Michigan and Florida State University, talks to us about ?The School of the
Future?.
 
The school of the future, as he says, promises that student learning not
teaching will be the focus of education. It promises that students will be
given the opportunity to be self- actualized, and engage in learning by doing
and that there will be a new type of partnership among the stakeholders of
schooling--students, teachers, parents, administrators and plain citizens in
the education of youth, this being facilitated by the reflective use of new
technologies.
 
The newly founded charter School ?Hellenic Classical Charter School? in
Brooklyn, New York, has opened its doors a few days ago to receive the 120
students, who start their school year in this very promising academic
institution.

Mr Konstantinos Kapetanakis, Chairman of the Executive Board of the school, 
presents to us this new institution in our program.
 
Finally, Stephane Nicolopoulos, a second generation Greek - Canadian, shares
with us his most exciting experiences from his world traveling, covering
stories for the international media.
 
He describes himself as an Ameropean, as he was born and raised in Montreal,
Canada from a greek father and a French mother, but the last few years uses as
his base the French capital, working as a freelance journalist for various
international broadcast TV channels, while collaborating as an international
reporter with the Paris-Match magazine.
 
Stephane has the adventurous spirit of most Greeks combined with the expertise
of a professional media person.
