** JAPAN. 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF ATOMIC BOMBINGS OF HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the atomic bombings of the Japanese
cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August 1945, Japan?s public
broadcaster NHK is opening its "peace archives" and making available three of
its programmes free of charge to overseas broadcasters.

In addition, NHK is to broadcast live two "concerts for Peace 2005" from
Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August. The concerts will also be available
live via the Internet.

I also caught CNN International promoting live coverage from Hiroshima starting
UT Fri Aug 5 at 2300. Don`t suppose we will see it on CNN domestic (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
