I have to laugh at these analyses of the media. All I can say is that if the majority of the people are to the right of the most journalists today, then it would seem that we are headed toward another inglorious rise of fascism.
I don't think the question is whether most journalists harbor liberal or conservative tendencies. (I suspect it's a mixture of both for most, depending on the issue.) What should really concern us is whether and how the media is performing its role. All I know is that the vaunted US media has been quite muted politically and so commercially driven of late that it hesitates to tell us things it perceives we either don't want to know or to which the government (or the right) might object.
And then there's that great debate between faith and reason....
Don't get me started. :-))
