I've been following this, since I enjoy both classical music and spoken-word
public radio.
WETA had aired mostly classical music during the day, but Monday eliminated
most of the classical music from its schedule. Many Washingtonians groused
at this, since WAMU FM is already mostly NPR-based talk radio.
Looking at the new schedule, there is a large dose of BBCWS programming
during the day...including a new entry, "Global Report", which is produced
by "BBC International" (sic). This seems to be a re-labeling of "World
Briefing", and appears to air on only a handful of stations. The program
has a named host, though -- Valerie Sanderson.
BBCWS programming now airs at the following times, all Eastern:
Tues-Fri - 12-6 AM, 9-11 AM, 1-2 PM, 11PM-12 midnight
Saturdays - 12-7 AM
Sundays - 12-7 AM
Mondays - 12-3 AM
The BBC has been crowing mightily about this change, since a key goal of
theirs is to be on the air in the world's captial cities. You can see that
they've invested in helping re-tool WETA's website look -- as many BBC names
show up with bios on the "On-Air Personalities" part of the website...
There are a couple other interesting-looking programs on the schedule. One:
"Changing World", hosted by Lisa Mullins of "The World", a documentary
series. The BBCWS co-produces the series. Details here:

Kevin Kelly has the program listed on the Public Radio Fan website -- see
http://www.publicradiofan.com/cgi-bin/program.pl?programid=3000.
There is another two-hour time slot on Sunday evenings for Documentaries --
looks like they're just beginning to fill that pipeline.
WETA does webcast live. See http://www.weta.org/fm/
