MOSCOW CALLING
 
 
In the next edition of the high-driven rock show "Moscow Calling",
listen to the Nautilus Pompilius band with their cult album Wings.
Andrei Zhamkin, your navigator in the world of Russian hard'n'heavy,
classic and art rock, will take you on tour to see what Russian rock is
all about. 
The program is on the air at 0230, 0730, and 2030 UTC on Fridays, at
1730 UTC on Saturdays, and at 0430 UTC on Mondays. Stay tuned. 
 
MUSIC AROUND US
 
 
Another edition of MUSIC AROUND US will focus on the creative effort of
the prominent Russian composer Maxim Dunayevsky. The son of the famous
composer Isaac Dunayevsky, Maxim has outstripped his father by the
number of films (some 70), for which he wrote incidental music. Also,
some of his compositions are so popular that he is quite a match for his
father. Maxim Dunayevsky' musicals became well known in this country
even before the word had actually made its way into the Russian
language. 
The program will go on the air for the first time on Tuesday, January
25, at 0530 UTC and will be repeated during the week. See our program

THE CHRISTIAN MESSAGE FROM MOSCOW
 
 
"The True Stories" is the title of the book, a radio adaptation of which
the Voice of Russia offers its listeners in the upcoming editions of
"The Christian Message from Moscow". The author of the book ? Lidya
Sergeyevna Zaparina ? was a gentlewoman by birth. She was born in 1903
and died in 1996. "The True Stories" were written by her in the years
when there was no possibility of having them published due to the
rampant campaign against all manifestations of Orthodoxy. The stories
were published just recently and have already been republished twice.
This is undeniably a testimony of their popularity. There isn't a word
of fiction there, just as the title of the book testifies, "The True
Stories". 
You will have an opportunity to hear the radio version of the book in
three consecutive editions of "The Christian Message from Moscow" - on
January 15, January 22, and January 29, at 0230, 0630, 0930, 1630, and
2030 UTC.
