Re: [Swprograms] OT: XM Satellite "Walkman" Radio Review

I got a good look at one of these in a local store and it does feel good in the hand. It's early days, though, and the $350 price is a bit of a barrier. Sirius is also emerging with a "handheld" that is somewhat bulkier than this one and without the digital recording capability (which is a nice touch, btw). The XTR-1 Stream Jockey and associated battery sells for about $130 less, however, and is made by an outfit called Xact. I understand after the next generation or two of products, a receiver capable of receiving both XM and Sirius is to be on offer. For now, more heat reduction, lesser power needs and further miniaturization are targets on the drawing boards.

The Washington Post has a review of Delphi's MyFi XM Satellite Radio "Walkman" type receiver with digital recording capability for time shifting your listening. The review is generally favorable but does point out some shortcomings a prospective purchaser should appreciate before making a purchase decision.
