In recent years, Apax Partners has been linked with a series of large media deals -- including high-profile bids for ITV, Trinity Mirror and the Telegraph Group. Dyke resigned from the BBC earlier this year after the fallout of Lord Hutton's investigation into the death of David Kelly, a British weapons advisor to the U.K. government.
