Unlike the US, I understand Canada has a law which
effectively allows the broadcast of election results to areas where polls have
closed, whilst prohibiting such broadcasts to areas where polls are still
open. It will be interesting how the CBC stations in the east cope with
this as far as their netcasts are concerned. Will Vancouverites log onto
CBC Maritime feeds, for example, to get the results several hours before they
can here them on CBC 690am.
