Cataracts are one of the major causes of blindness, and China has some four
million people suffering from the condition. To help cataract patients
regain their eyesight, seven years ago the Chinese Ministry of Health and
the Lions Club International jointly launched the Sight First China Action
project, which proved to be especially helpful for cataract sufferers living
in remote and poor areas. The June 9 "China Horizons" looks at the program.
